I have acquired all of my parts to have my M40A5 built. My stock should be here from McMillan any day now and I want advice on where I should send it to have it assembled/ built.

I have checked out GAP, DD Ross, APA, and I have searched here but I wanted to ask anyways.

Who are the top builders of the M40A5?

If you were having a M40A5 built from parts, where would you send it?

Re: M40 A5

GAP, but they are only 15 minutes drive from my house to the shop. And they do excellent work.

FWIW....Chet

Re: M40 A5

Any competent builder can easily do your project. That said, of the ones you mention, GAP would be my first choice. As George and crew have alot of expereince with the M40 line up. FWIW, I would absolutely NOT have DDRoss touch it.....

Re: M40 A5

Ditto to everything 7mmRM said.

If you're going full-spec and want it built exactly like the issue rifles down to the smallest detail, GAP is the way to go. Plus they have a former 2112 doing all their M40 work right now.

They may take a while to get done, but they're usually done within the ETA given. They're real professional and recommend them for any spec work wanted done.

Re: M40 A5

Thanks, guys. I was leaning strongly towards GAP and this might be the final push in that direction.

Re: M40 A5

If you want a USMC SPEC build, you should use GA Precision. I use several different builders, but for the spec stuff GAP is the way to go.
