The Barrett isn't in the same league as the TAC50 for long range but it serves it purpose very well. I went with the TAC50 for my needs. My wife calls them wants but I see them as needs!!lol

Pure fun M82, for accuracy Tac-50.
I would also look at the HTI .50 for that kind of money. Reports of really good accuracy coming in plus shorter system and you can always swap barrels to other calibers as well.

I have both and like them for very different things. I sold my Ma duce to get them because they are way easier to get out and shoot. If you can only have one get the tac50. There is no comparison in accuracy! If you can have both you have the best of both worlds. I like the AI ax50 even more than the McMillan but it costs several thousand more.

I load my 750 grain amax and 800 grain solid match loads to shoot at 2700 fps out of both rifles. I am only at 220 grains of H50bmg with the amax to get it out of a 29" barrel. I believe you can go up around 10 more grains according to my load data. I would think you should easily be able to get 2700.

Indeed. As much as I criticize the M82/107, it's not only well suited to specific tactical applications but also a hell of a lot of fun to shoot. My main concern is that there's a major misconception in the public about this rifle as a precision platform and while I suspect much of that comes from video games and movies, it's clear that even in the broad shooting community this myth persists.
