i'm thinking about getting one with the 18" barrel and switchblock. i thought about building my own, but i would be putting one together almost identical to it (switchblock, 1:7, aac hider, etc).

anyone have any opinions on them? how are they in the accuracy department?

Re: noveske spr uppers?

Their rifles and barrels are extremely accurate. I would probably recommend against the switchblock on an 18" rifle. I had one and with an Ops Inc suppressor, I was only able to cycle XM193 55 grain ammo on the suppressed setting. M855 62 grain and MK262 77 grain ammo would not cycle the rifle 100% of the time on the suppressed mode.

The switchblock won't hurt but it is unnecessary on that length of barrel. It is more for slowing down a rifle to shoot full auto in the suppressed mode. My new 18" SPR is built with standard gas block and cycles perfectly with a suppressor, not to hard and not over gassed.

Make sure you check us out when you are ready to order if you haven't already.

Noveske SPR Group

go about half way up the page to see groups by a Noveske SPR - if that doesn't do it for you nothing will.

Re: noveske spr uppers?

Go for it you will not be disappointed at all! I have a complete 18" SPR, I got John to build for me with the switchblock system and it's main diet even in suppressed mode is 69gr. Corbon and Hornady 77 gr. I have never had any problems with it running my AWC Raider on the system. I was so impressed with the platform I had him build me another 12.5" switchblock stainless steel platform and out to 350-400 yds. it will almost shoot hole for hole with my 18" unit. One of the features I like best about the switchblock system is the ability to set it to single shot mode with it suppressed it is wickedly quite!!

Re: noveske spr uppers?

I don't have a switch block and have but hundreds of rounds through mine suppressed without a single malfunction with multiple types of 5.56 ammo.

Re: noveske spr uppers?

I run an 18" Noveske SPR barrel in my 3-gun rifle and love it. It only shoots 77gr Noslers and the thing is stupid accurate. One of the great things about Noveske is that they will build whatever you want as long as they stock the parts...and you will have your upper in less than a week.

Re: noveske spr uppers?

Easily the best upper I've ever owned. I've been shooting a Noveske SPR upper since March after putting it on a Gen II Noveske lower with a Geissele SSA and UBR.

My experience has been the same as the other posters, it has been 100% reliable and very accurate. My best load for this rifle, so far, has been 23.6 grs of Varget behind a 77 gr SMK. I still have a few other powders and bullets to try.

Re: noveske spr uppers?

I just got a Noveske 14.5 Rogue hunter complete upper and it's got a great fit and finish . Haven't got to shoot it yet but I expect good things
