Academy Sports Ammo

Is this exactly legal? Just wondering. I guess it is, just strange to see at a major retailer like this.

Probably legal, Ammoman will sell it by the pallet. Not such a great buy though @ $.40/rd. For that many it should be cheaper. Id liketo see what happens if the pallet gets dropped and one of those loose rounds tip hits the primer of another round.

Definitely NOT the best (i.e. - safest) packaging method as far as I'm concerned, but I don't see anything per se "illegal" about the deal. I would guess that the rounds toward the bottom of a 350lb drum filled will ammo may be a little bent up/beat up by the time you get down that far. I'd much prefer to buy it by the 1k round case, sealed, in either boxes or cans than to buy a drum full of loosely packed stuff.

Some guys at my FFL were talking about this saying Academy might be is some hot water over this.

I noticed you have to call to order. Probably a big sting operation going on to catch stockpilers. Call , give em your info and the FBI comes knocking.
