I've got a build coming from a friend. 6.5 Creedmoor built on a Remington 700 action, bedded into a 5R takeoff stock. The scope I'll be using is a Vortex Viper 6.5-20x50. The base is a EGW 20 MOA. I've used a 44mm Vortex in the past with TPS low rings but I'm not sure that the 50mm will fit with the low, it will be close.

What would your recommend as far as cheek rest or stock pads are concerned?

Thanks,

Paul

Go with a Triad stock pack. It has removeable padding strips. I ended up taking out the strips, which gives me slightly higher cheek weld on a non-slip surface, along with storage for extra rounds.

I've got ALL 50mm Scopes on my rifles, every rifle has a 20MOA base and None had any Clearance Problems. With that being said, all of my rifles has Factory Heavy Barrels Except one which also didn't have any clearance problems.

If you do decide to go with Low Rings a adjustable cheek piece won't do you much good, so I'd go with the stock pack and be done with it.

Defensive Edge makes a very light, adjustable and inexpensive cheek piece. I've used a couple of them.
