normally i use my PDA to do the milling, but wanted Mil-Dot Master incase im at a match that dont allow electronics on stages...
after getting it in the mail, its useless on small targets... such as 12" plates, or 30" wide silhouettes.. at and long range..

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

Try reading the manual. Use the right hand scale and you can mil 1.75" targets down to .3 mil.

Too busy flaming product to do that.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

Once you check out the directions like Cory said you can get pretty fine with the breakdown and be pretty surprised by how accurate it can be.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

I just use the right side of mine. Works for Mils or MOA, and like the guys said, pretty dang accurate. Battery life is great too

.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

wow really? its perfect for that ..... if you know your target size that is half the battle. read the directions and go out and play with it. plus the more accurately you can guess the actual mil measurement the better it will be!

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

Ya dude. You need to learn to use it before you allow yourself to get disappointed. Its way faster than a PDA and the batteries never loose their charge.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

I'm with the OP.

I have a mildot master and it's ok, but the little card I made up in excel is far superior. It is smaller, more legible, and is faster.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

didnt come with a manual

but playing with it now, i see this..

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

Just use the right hand scale. Take the target size in inches and align it with the far right mil values, read the range in the normal window.

And call whoever you got it from and get the manual, it does more than just range.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

Ring, if you PM me your email address, I'll email you my excel spreadsheet for my card.

It goes from .05-1mard in .05 increments, then from 1 to 2.5ish in .1 incs, and from 1-20" target sizes. It covers ranges for ~75yards to 1300 yards.

Printed 2.5"x2.5", it is easy to read and FAST.

Re: Mil-Dot Master disappointment :(

So you should rename your thread, before some sees it and fails to read it all the way to the happy ending.....
