Rifle Scopes Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

From what I understand, the H1 is still waterproof but cant be submerged as far as the T1. Also, the H1's brightness settings aren't low enough for night vision where the T1's settings are. I think those are the only major differences. Both are available in 2 and 4 MOA dots.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

Depending on the type of use and rifle set up you have. I have both I like the micros for their size but I feel the full size sights are a little more forgiving when it comes to odd position shooting. I'm also not to keen on the PRO's mount so if you plan to upgrade the mount keep that in mind.

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

Even though it's against the current cool guy thought process, I like the full size Aimpoints better for the wider tube. I find the Micros to be pretty restrictive on perfect position behind the rifle and optic whereas the wider tubes allow for a little more slop under speed.

That being said, I'd still take a Micro over most other red dots out there.

I have both the H1 and T1... The T1 is about $75 more, and a marketing gimmick.

He is talking about the Pro and H1 differences

Tell that to guys running NVDs.

What exactly makes it a "gimmick"? What did Aimpoint promise and fail to deliver on with the T1? The H1 is marketed as a non-NVD compatible T1. What is deceptive about such marketing? Typical that you'd talk out your ass.

What do you mean by non-NVD? I can see both dots, the one from the H1 and the one from the T1 with my night vision goggles. If I can see it with my AN-PVS7 goggles, I am sure the scope will have no problems either.

Also Red Dots are made for CQB, and I think a NVG optic is pretty lame for CQB since you have to keep your head through the optic while it is dark to see anything. For NVG in CQB environment, I would go goggles, lasers, and illuminators.

For me, I would

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

You really don't get it. It's in the lens coatings, not brightness settings.

ETA: you and I can likely make the $50 compromise without any ill-effects, but to call it a gimmick would be like calling an S&B a gimmick because it isn't vastly superior to a Premiere or NF. It's there if you need it...if you don't, buy an H1.

It's closer to $100 I think than $50. Can an Operator like you help me to understand?

What do you mean by lens coating? One is a red front (H1) and one is a green front (T1), is green coating made of kryptonite that is why it's more expensive?

Or is it because that green coating the other side can't see the red dot in the dark? while the red coating they can? If that's the case... hahahahahaha. On a lower setting I have a hard enough time seeing that dot myself even on the "correct end" of the barrel!

It's your money, you spend it how you like. Do whatever it takes so you can sleep better at night, a good nights sleep is what's most important.

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

It's about what lights are transmitted and how it affects the NVD. Do some research.

Who claimed to be an "operator"?

It was about $50 or 75 when I bought one.

I don't doubt what you say about NVG, however I still think it's a marketing gimmick to get get the same scope with 2 different price points.

Is a lense coating really worth $70 more? I think not. I am sure cost to make the H1 and T1 are the same. Most of us don't even have NVD but we most of us will be willing to pay $70 for the marketing gimmick.

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

Been happy with my Aimpoint PRO with it's original mount on my BCM AR. A nice wide field of view as mentioned, and do like the 2 MOA red dot.

Re: Aimpoint Micro H1 vs Aimpoint Pro

T1 or H1 all the way, once you get used to it (doesn't take long) they are fast, accurate, durable, light and have awesome battery life. Everything I could ask for in any optic. The pro is a solid choice too from what I've heard but I've never used it so I can't offer any advice there. But I run my T1 2 moa with the aimpoint 3x magnifier on a Larue fts mount and they do everything I need from clearing rooms to getting repeatable, accurate hits with a 10.5 LWRC M6A2 5.56 out to 300 yards.
