I am still very unsure about what I should buy for my new AICS 300wm build. I am getting tapped out on cash but before I sell off some stuff to push my budget up what is everyone's opinion on best 1500 range scope? I want at least 15 but more like 20-25 power.

Bushnell Elite

VIPER PST 6-24X50 FFP

Leupold Mark 4

????????????

While I love the rectical in my tactical bushnell is is not as clear as my lupy, or a vortex???

Can't Vortex if you will need it for ranging, since FFP and mil/mil based. Leupould MK 4 8.5X25 LRT has better glass and TMR reticle, but SFP and mil reticle and 1/4 MOA knob adjustments. Both available in For Sale section here at good prices.

SWFA SS 5-20x50? HD glass, mil/mil, FFP. Otherwise, Bushnell HDMR.

Go with the 6.5-20 Mark 4. Eventually when you have a little more cash, you can always send it in to Leupold and upgrade the turrets to the M5 mil turrets. The glass is a little nicer than the others mentioned as well.

I would get an IOR 4-16 from libertyoptics but the SWFA 5-20, PST 6-24 and HDMR are all good options.

If you are planning on shooting competitively I would get a used nightforce. I have seen them for sub 1500, usually the SFP 3-15 models.

My vote is for the SS. Esp. if you want a FFP(a must IMO). There is one for sale here, for 1200. The is also one on the Sample List for 1100.

From what I have seen, mine has better glass than Nightforce, and Leupold. About even with the Vortex Razor. Above all else, it tracks extremely well. Most will complain that I put it above the NF, but they seem to have a blue-tint to my eyes, that I don't like.

Really! So people think real highly of these! From what I can tell there really is no excuse for the old adage ; spent 1.5 to 2 times on glass than your rifle! That may be a good question to pose the forum......

As far as glass quality goes, I've had the 5-20X50 side by side with a Mark 4, and it blew the Mark 4 out of the water.

I've looked through the bushnell elites (non-HDMR) and PST and while they were nice, I didn't see anything special with the glass. I didn't get a change to look at them side by side like I did with the Mark 4. I will say that I like the turret feel on the PST more though.

Wait for the new HDMRs or look for a used Leupold 6.5-20x FFP M5.

Ive been looking at all these scopes as well, and everybody seems to love the SS 5-20's, and theres a ton of them for sale on here. My main concern is the glass quality (for the price range) and if it tracks true. Anybody had any issues with the SWFA's?

A buddy of mine pulled off his Mark IV and put on a Nightforce NXS and is extremely pleased with it. He has had it for a few years now and has not had a single complaint. His MarkIV is still sitting on a shelf. He said in his opinion its the difference between night and day. He is most impressed with the tracking, he has complete trust in it.

Guys you know what you are saying right? Buy some half generic rifle scope called super sniper which sounds kinda mall ninja over Americas optic authority Leupold. Hey if it's good it's good I just don't see why so many guys sell them n here if they are good! I want to believe I can get something and be happy until I can figure a way to get my USO or Zeiss or SandB or something.

I didn't think Leupold had been Americas optic authority for over ten years now.

+1 for Bushnell HDMR $1400 new or $1100-1200 used. The Gen 2's won't be out for a while and will be higher than your price point.

Nightforce! Rock solid, proven, and very user friendly design. Leaps and bounds over Leupold. My second choice would be an HDMR or IOR.
