I ordered the NightForce 5.5-22x50 NXS Tactical Riflescope ZeroStop with the NP-R1 reticle. I agonized over the past week on what high dollar scope to buy. Please make this scope be worth the money. This will be my early and prolly ONLY Christmas present when my wife figures out just how much I spent on it...LOL

I'll be mounting it on my POF 308. I'll make sure to give a range report when I get it to the range.

Amongst all the optics i've ever owned or used... Nightforce is the one that I feel the most confidence with when I shoot.

Some of my optics have better glass... some have cooler reticles... some are more tacticool...

But in the end, if I could only choose one, it would be a Nightforce.

Thanks for the reinforcement guys... I have never owned high dollar glass. I have only ever owned cheaper scopes like Millet, Konus, BSA ect.

I have shot Leupold in the Army but not a great deal of time behind it. I went with Nightforce for the very same reasons you guys are telling me. Thanks again...

about a year ago i got the ffp nightforce

i thought it was pretty cool but now it's like i've got the hubble telescope on top of my rifle

i'm probably gonna get rid of it and go for the lighter 2-10

Yes, I agree.
I've never spent as much on any of my "toys" as I've spent on Night Force scopes, and I've never had even a hint of "buyer's remorse".

Though that scope is fabulous, i own one, i fear you might be setting yourself up for a slight dissapointment, meaning i was expecting more for my 1800 bones

I own 5 NF scopes 2 are the same scope you bought. That scope is my favorite of not only the NF scopes but of any of the scopes I own. As others have said you will love it.

I am in the same boat you are. I ordered the NXS 5.5-22x56 w/ MOAR a couple days ago. I have 3 Mark 4s and really hope this one was worth the extra $$

You certainly will not regret purchasing a Nightforce, only problem is now you will want one on every rifle.

Great scopes. While hunting I tripped and bent the bell on my NF. I had them repair it and also change the reticle to MOAR. They kept in touch and quickly repaired it. Great service and a great company

Have the NXS 5.5-22X56 with MOAR as well, damn nice scope IMO. You will like your Nightforce, congrats!

NXS are great scopes..... You might find that that is a bit much glass for the POF though. A 15x might have been the better choice for your application.

Maybe even the much smaller 10x as mentioned above.

Why too much glass (magnification)? If he had bought an 8-32 or 12-42 then, I would certainly agree; however, as has been said before...you can always dial down for less magnification but if you're maxed out at 10x or 15x when you need a little more power, you're screwed.

I have a NF and believe it is the best for the money. I have owned it for about four years now and no regrets. I would not hesitate to buy another one.

I have the 5.5-22x50 with MOAR and love it, I have had/still have NPR1 reticles but the MOAR is my favorite

Truer words were never spoken. Started out with one on my TRG 22 and now have 5 and looking at a 6th if I pull the trigger on an a new AIAW deal. But will purchase a NF NXS 8-32X56 HST, ZS and MOAR reticle.

If they made a 1-8 with all the same features as the F1 I'd have 2 of those and 3 of the 3.5-15 F1s, all the same reticle, all the same knobs.

Right now just starting to experiment with the F1.

Yesterday I ordered a 3.5-15 X 56 Nightforce with Mildot and mil knobs. I struggled deciding between the 15 or 22 power models and still have the option of exchanging it for the 22X if I don't mount it.

I hope this new scope works as I can't deal with owning another riflescope. I've owned 4 lower end scopes ($300ish) and they've all had problems. Unstable, difficult to adjust and failing reticles (erectors?), returning for warranties and even a lens separation. Hey, I almost forgot a finger print on the inside surface of a lense.

That's why they were lower-end scopes. If you continue to compare your NF to them, you're going to be extremely pleased!!! You made a great purchase.

IMO, yes, too much magnification. Unfortunately, most shooters don't know that the little power ring doodad actually goes both directions, haha. I have high powered optics up to 25x Schmidts and they are very rarely turned up that high. Multiple 22x NF Scopes in my stable as well. Just ordered another F1. Really, nothing inside of 1000 requires more than a 15x scope can deliver and a guy will be a better shooter for it.

So I got my Nightforce last night and my initial impression is that you can tell its higher quality scope than the scopes I currently own. I got it mounted last night and took it out this morning and got my first chance to look through it on the rifle during the day light. I can with all honesty say the glass is much more clear. I am dying to shoot with this scope. The reticle is crisp and clear and the clicks on the elevation and windage are firm. You know when you make a click. So far I am very happy I bought this scope. I have zero buyers remorse.

Like I said in my original post I have mounted this on my POF 308. I without a doubt will be saving my pennies to put one on my Savage.

I'll post up some pics and a range report on Thursday when I get to shoot with it.

I'm sure you'll have no regrets. I bought my first NF back in '94 or '95 and I still have it today. It's a 5.5-22x56 Varminter (looks like the BR model of today), it cost $600 back then. Since then I have purchased a 3.5-15x56 Varminter, 8-32x56 BR, and (3)5.5-22x56 NXS. I have absolutely never had any "buyers remorse".

I am currently waiting for the FFP model that is to hit the market soon with the higher magnification.

Good choice? I was resistant at first as well but looking back, I'm glad it went with it.
