Rifle Scopes Vortex Razor and Viper Opinion

Lets start by saying that I own 2 NF scopes (BR 12-42 and NXS 5.5-22) but i am looking at adding a 3rd since I am tired of changing glass. I need a FFP for tactical matches and want something stronger than NF 3-15.

I have been looking at the Razor 5-20 and the Viper 6.5-20, both FFP. I have read all kinds of posts on who like what scope for whatever reason(s). I guess I am looking for good and bad on these particular scopes...but I am also open to suggestions.

The Razor is a great FFP for the money, SWFA SS 5-20 is too if you're looking to be between the two cost wise. SWFA has several on their sample list right now for a good deal.

how odd, jason is no longer green and now is blue. dun dun dun... wonder what that means.

I think as a Nightforce owner, you'd probably be happier with the Razor.... or SWFA.

Shep, where in WA are you, more than welcome to check out or borrow a SWFA SS from me. I don't have a Razor at this time in the safe or you could use both.

I just threw a Razor on one of my rifles to see how I would like it. I've gotten a chance in the past to play with them here in the store, however mounting it and shooting it makes you appreciate it more. I rather it over the PST anyday.

If your not going to get another NF then you're probably not looking at S&Bs, so NF > IOR is the way I'd go. To my eye the Razor just can't compare to an IOR or NF or Hensolt or Kahles...

I am in Tri Cities...I have the luxury of pounding out 1KYD at Rattlesnake range anytime I feel like braving 20+mph winds!! haha.

Be glad to have an opportunity to look through some glass before I pulled the trigger on my check book! I hear you guys have a pretty nice 1KYD range in Portland but havent made it down yet.

I will look at the SWFA...honestly, until this point I have always thought they were cheap glass and never gave them a 2nd look but alot of people have good things to say.

I just got my first Razor, it won't be my last, I recently sold a PR 5-25, my new Razor with EBR3 has glass that's just as good, I would pass on the Vipers, while still good scopes the entire Razor line is much more than a cut above.
