What do you think about the PSP getting refinished? Or should I just leave it alone because it may hurt the value?...Its got a hint of that old metal/urine like smell to but not as bad as when I got it. Cleaned it up real good and put some eezox on it, helped but didnt get rid of it. </div></div>
All in all, I don't think you'll hurt the PSP's resale value with a refinish. I have seen plenty of them redone over the years (especially the "trade-in" models that were sold over the last several years) and not once have I seen the value decrease in relation to the refinish.
Personally, the best refinishes I have seen in person have been those from Robar. Roguard on the lower/frame and NP3 (or NP3+) on the internals, slide, cocking lever, etc.
Seen here on an M8, but you get the idea:
It all comes down to how much you want to spend and what kind of finish you want/need. Since it is a PSP, there are some laws of diminishing returns on how much cash you sink into it. If its a keeper, then I'd go the finish route above which should last a lifetime (or more) even with regular use and/or carrying it.
