Today I picked up an HK P7M8 sterling date coded 1995 like new with two mags but no box. I paid 875...Thats a good deal right?

Re: HK P7M8

Yes, that's a good deal. I paid $1250 for mine 4 years ago. If you think that you got screwed, then let me take it off your hands for $875:)

Re: HK P7M8

That is a great deal. P7 PSP pistols are going for 1200-1300 on gun broker in 99% condition...... Thinking about selling mine due to the price jumps in the last year or 2

Re: HK P7M8

Thanks for the input I knew it had to be a good deal. They got it in on trade the day before and I saw it way in the back sitting behind rifles in a rack.... I was about to walk away... I could take some pic. What pic uploading program is the one used around here?

Re: HK P7M8

You STOLE it if it's a true P7M8! If it's a P7 PSP model, that is about the going prioe.

M8 has "American" mag release. PSP has the Euro release at heel of backstrap.

I've owned one of each. They're super accurate, easy to shoot. I just always justified other pistols in the end. BUT. . . they are phenomenal firearms that work outstanding for CCW purposes!

Enjoy!

Re: HK P7M8

Oh yes its an M8 for sure as I already own a grade B PSP that I bought 5 years ago

Re: HK P7M8

Smokin' deal of the day (maybe the year)!!

Does the guy you bought it from have any more? My M13 and other HK pistols need another friend to hang out with!!

Re: HK P7M8

No it wasnt a personal sale... Its a hardware store that just converted over into also selling guns, ammo, and reloading gear. Maybe there google kung fu wasnt up to snuff or gun value books put a more retail value instead of collectible value on it. Either way I feel its because they are relatively new to the gun game and lack experience and knowledge. The guy that took it in the shorts was whoever traded it in because if the store was willing to sell at that price who knows what they gave him for it!...I knew it was a good deal but I just need moral support because the last thing I needed right now was to spend money on another pistol with so many other open ended projects right now. I need to find a M13 now...Also to bad it didnt have the box...The guy that owned it prolly still has it stuff away in a corner somewhere

Re: HK P7M8

You stole .. It... I paid $1250 for one here a few weeks ago

I felt like I stole it ..99 percent

They are truly engineering marvel

Just awesome guns

Re: HK P7M8

Thanks for your input... Im glad everyone is in agreement. I guess I dont need to worry so much about the box.

What do you think about the PSP getting refinished? Or should I just leave it alone because it may hurt the value?...Its got a hint of that old metal/urine like smell to but not as bad as when I got it. Cleaned it up real good and put some eezox on it, helped but didnt get rid of it.

All in all, I don't think you'll hurt the PSP's resale value with a refinish. I have seen plenty of them redone over the years (especially the "trade-in" models that were sold over the last several years) and not once have I seen the value decrease in relation to the refinish.

Personally, the best refinishes I have seen in person have been those from Robar. Roguard on the lower/frame and NP3 (or NP3+) on the internals, slide, cocking lever, etc.

Seen here on an M8, but you get the idea:

It all comes down to how much you want to spend and what kind of finish you want/need. Since it is a PSP, there are some laws of diminishing returns on how much cash you sink into it. If its a keeper, then I'd go the finish route above which should last a lifetime (or more) even with regular use and/or carrying it.

Re: HK P7M8

Not sure if you are interested but saw a new set of XS big dot tritiums on Ebay two days ago for an M8 with a starting bid of $70 and a buy it now of $80, free shipping. That is a smoking deal on what, IMHO are the best NS out there.

Re: HK P7M8

Ok nice I'll check that out when I get home from work... The PSP needs sights worse because one of the little white pins fell out but I know the aren't the same... Maybe they could be cut? I dunno

Re: HK P7M8

Junkie, i was thinking the same thing, one of my carry guns is a PSP. I read somewhere that the M8 sights are higher and pinned. I think the listing number is 121012730852, I tried to post a link but it is way too long.
