Guy is selling one for $700 with M1 turrets. A little wear on the turrets but nothing major. Is this a good deal?

Re: Found a used Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm.....good price?

Fair price but the M1 turrets would bug me and I think it's 130$ for M5 turrets.

Personally I'd rather have one of the super sniper 3-9 FFPs or a sightron S3 3.5-10 SFP. Both are durable, functional, and have comparable glass quality as well as knobs that match the reticule.

That's a fair price but as others have mentioned the mil based reticle with MOA adjustments isn't ideal. Are you still in the USMC?

Ok thanks guys. Yes sir I am, you as well?

For $700, in my opinion, you can do far better. Vortex is my #1 choice in optics now... period.

Yes, I am still active duty. It's been a good career but I'm getting close to retirement in a few years. I would suggest you look into this, the savings are substantial:

If you are interested in a Leupold I would also recommend looking at the TMR reticle instead of the traditional mil-dot, the math is the same but the TMR is more precise.

USMC Mustang, received and replied thank you.

Re: Found a used Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm.....good price?

Well FWIW, SWFA has several of the 3.5-10s and the same scope with the same reticle and turrets in condition "B" is listed at $850 and another with the M3 turrets/mil dot(condition "B") is going for $999 so it's a good deal but I always avoid mil/moa scopes.

Make sure it's real- there is a page on Leupold's site about how to spot a fake. I've run across one or two that the seller thought was real, but weren't.

That's a great point! I just went to ebay and there were five fake Mk 4s on the first page of results for "Leupold Mark 4". I've reported several of these auctions for fake Mk 4s to ebay in the past, only once was the auction ended. I've watched some of these auctions end and these Chinese copies went for what a real one would have gone for.

It's a shame, for many of us a used Mk 4 was our first "real" long range scope. I hate to think that some young shooter, who could barely afford a used Mk 4, gets turned off from shooting because he got burned on an illegally imported copy.

With so many used mk4s in circulation, ebay is probably the last place I would go. I can think of 3 or 4 reputable vendors off the top of my head that would likely have one.

Re: Found a used Mark 4 3.5-10x40mm.....good price?

I was unaware that we had some vendors around selling used ones. Would you mind pointing me in their direction? I appreciate it fellas.

Fakes are super easy to spot. No gold badge, white lettering on the objective bell, red + green illumination, and serial numbers like "8888SC"...pretty obvious...
