I would like to put together a scoped upper to use inside 200'yards...here is what im thinking, I'd like some thoughts on this...I am really interested in what people think I can get for accuracy. Haven't thought about barrel twist yet as I'm waiting on the opinions. I have a custom 308 for long range stuff...this is to play inside 200 but want something tight..

11.5 inch upper (already have a registered lower) with a Troy 11" Alpha rail with BCM gunfighter charging handle and YHM suppressor with quick release and Harris bipod.

Leaning towards a Leupold vx-r patrol in 3-9

Going on a Stag lower with a cmc 4 lb trigger with Magpul UBR stock

Twist will depend on how heavy a bullet you want to throw. I'd say the 11.5" barrel will most likely have a 1/7 which is what I suggest. 1/8 should be fine as well. I run a 10.5" LWRC but only because I run an M4-2k on it as well. I had too many gas set up not run properly suppressed. I think the problems have been worked out so I'm sure most known manufactures will have a functioning SBR upper!! I'm a fan of KAC. Just my 2 cents!! GYZ

It would be really hard to beat Noveske's 11.5 for accuracy. You can get them with or without switchblocks. Without go for around $350 with a pinned gasblock, which means you're getting the barrel for sub $300

If you would go up or down by an inch, then you open up at least a couple other options, like Rainier Ultramatch barrels.

I forgot to mention BCM, they also make a stainless 11.5 that should be great.

My 12.5 stainless noveske upper was well under moa with quality ammo. Get a good barrel and all you give up is velocity when you go short, accuracy potential actually goes up a bit with shorter barrels.

An 11.5" 6.8 SpecII would be sweet.

Go with a 1-4x and DI is my vote. Skip piston.

I agree.

If you like the 3-9 magnification, also consider the Super Sniper 3-9x42. Reportedly better glass. I have had 2 of these and thought the glass was excellent for the price. I have not compared it directly the the 3-9 vxr.

you might check out the Vortex PST 2.5-10X44 mil-dot, mil-mil with matching reticle and its illiminated. I also like the SS 3-9 but it is not illuminated.
