i am working a trade right now. I have a (nothing special edition) Sig P226 3 mags and holster. I have a guy wanting to trade me a Sig SP2340 + 1 extra mag (LNIB)and $100 cash. My thoughts are do the trade, then sell the 2340 to reach my end goal of moving everything over to a pair of glocks.

Opinions needed...thanks

Re: opinions needed

The 226 will bring far more cash than a 2340 (even with the $100 bump). If you want Glocks, trade for glocks, not a lesser model of Sig and expect someone to want a 2340 over a Glock. New 2340s are going for around the $350 price on sale. You should be able to get around $500(or more) for the 226 if it is in good condition.

Re: opinions needed

I bought a 2340 back in 2004 and have absolutely loved it. That said, the 2340 is not a gun that's going to hold value and be easily traded. The P226 is more valuable overall. The 2340 is that reliable old pickup truck that no one wants, but will always get you to town. Use it until the wheels fall off (many decades hence!), but don't expect anyone to buy it from you.

I'd want to get significantly more cash for a P226 to a 2340 trade if I were you. I'm talking like $300 or so. Depending on the condition of your P226, you may be able to trade even up for a Glock down at your local gun store.

Re: opinions needed

Per a Sig armorer whom I just had break the gun down, he said everything is to spec. Aesthetically it could use a re-blue. Has some holster wear near the muzzle.

played with it a bit to actually show the holster wear
