Unless mistaken, they have a gap between the 32 and 50 obj. scopes - why have they not filled the gap?

OH boy.................when will this news/scope be released??

I love my Nightforce scopes & would love to see a "sleeker" version of the 3.5-15x50 for hunting rifle applications!!!

That's what she said... Obviously! More on point, you're right on track. I'm in the market for a nice compact scope with something like a 40mm... If funds will allow, I think it will have to be a USO.

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

If they release something FFP between 40mm and 50mm, low power of 2-5x, max power of 14-18x, and a price tag of < $2500 I will be buying it.

have i lied to you yet. they have some good things coming next year that will actually ship. can't say what, but its good stuff. Nightforce really wants to own the hunting market. </div></div>

Hope its true - I'll be all over it!!

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

I'd take a 40mm FFP version of the 32 and be happy. If I could be picky I'd make the windage and illumination adjustment low profile. I'd prefer a few less ounces in weight but wouldn't sacrifice durability for them.

Good luck. With those parameters the vortex razor is a really good option. </div></div>

So in other words, they want to charge more for their magIc new hunting scope than their F1? He's not asking anything but a smaller F1 essentially. If that includes more than 10-15% increase to keep it smaller, they aren't going to gain anything unless it is significantly better than what's out. Maybe it will, maybe it won't. $2500 buys a lot of scope...just a bit more cash can pick up S&B 3-12x easily in used market. Can't a guy get new non-illuminated units for that?

Though it's not my favorite scope, these 4-16x42 PM IIs that come up used time to time keep looking better and better.

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

I'd be happy if they offered all of their existing scopes in FFP instead of just having one...

I just don't see them coming out with a ffp that isn't a 34mm tube is all I'm saying. But what do I know. This is all conjecture. And for just a bit more a guy can pick up a Kahles 6-24 or Steiner 5-25.</div></div>

Specs on the new Nightforce will be....

Nightforce F1 5.5-22x50mm with 34mm tube. MAP $2999
Nightforce F1 5-25x56mm with 34mm tube. MAP $3499

And a mystery bonus will be...

Nightforce F1 3-12x42mm with 30mm tube. MAP $1999

That's the single most ridiculous prediction I've heard all week, including some oblivious ijit who thought we would win California this year.

Nightforce is completely illsuited, it'd be more likely for Weatherby to own the duty handgun market.

Can't wait to see their redesigned Compact now...

Silly me, that WILL completely dominate the hunting market. Leupold, Nikon, and Bushnell might as well close up shop and save what little money they can now.

They have some work to do with Leupold's VX6 series out here.

Thanks all.

That would be awesome... But I'm not going to hold my breath.

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

just wait how long?

i'm about ready to get a 2-10 but 40mm would be better than 32mm

i hope they're lighweight because i don't want a 2 lb. scope

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

Guys... I was just speculating... I have absolutely 0 knowledge of what Nightforce is releasing... except that something they're releasing has a 34mm tube. :p

FFP 50mm......price at MAP is $2290, I can buy this for much less at my local dealer so it looks like one hide member's dream scope came true circa 2010

USO 3.2-17X44 can be had for less than 2500.

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

Yeah Red, that's a pretty good point...

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

Is there any idea when the NXS scopes will come out in FFP? IT's been discussed for years now!

<span style="font-weight: bold">The NXS 3.5-15 (F1 or the SFP) is really a 3.5-14X scope.</span> Nightforce uses a 4X zoom erector in all their modesl. I don't know why most manufacturers try to embellish the magnification range of their scopes instead of putting accurate numbers.

Cuz 14 looks ugly?

So are you saying my 12-42x56 is really 10.5-42x56 or 12-48x56?

That's the one exception in the entire NSX and compact line, and thanks for bringing it up

Sorry, I meant <50mm as in 44mm at the most

I will probably end up going USO simply because I don't think NF will ever release what I am wanting.

Re: Nightforce - why nothing between 32 & 50 Obj ?

I suggested to Chris as SWFA that if they built a SS in 3-12x42, or 3-15x44, it would be extremely popular. He told me that is one of the ideas they have been thinking about.

I can see them building such a scope for a reasonable price. It should be ready approximate March 2015...
