shooting on a table so it is 100YB-TQ4
scope 6-24x50 konus
ammo: CCI SV 0032
front : caldwell front rest, rear shoulder
temp 43 F
wind 1-2 MPH, changing
score 250 12x
one hole is just touching the 10 ring, so i counted it but i have no problem if you all think it should be 249 12x
This is the best result i have gotten from the CCI SV ammo so far, the ammo is not weighted, just shoot right of the box, i got lucky and the wind is very clam.

Not wanting to waste good subsonic ammo on a windy day shooting at metal with 12 to 15 mph head winds & cross winds, I have to admit I was surprised at how well the "cheap" high velocity Federal 510B ammo did at 200 yards.

Shot both of these using the Fed AM22 Automatch bulk pack from WalMart. Had a nice sub 2" group until shot 16, which impacted 3" low at 6 o'clock, just on the 8 ring

The shot released just perfect, I thought, so I'm chalking that up to a weak round. I've also never used a high mag target style scope before, and wanted to try out a cheap one from Midway.

This was an odd range session. This is the first time I've fired this rifle with this barrel, and after my trigger job. The wind was swirling around on the range quite a bit. Overall, I'm happy with teh barrel and trigger so far. Not too bad for a 10/22 with mediocre barrel and self-worked trigger.

Last month of the year coming up! Hope that Santa brings you all the really cool stuff the missus wouldn't let you have throughout the year!

The subject of changing from 25 to a 10 round count has resurfaced, what do you think? (a poll has been submitted in the learnings thread http://www.snipershide.com/forum/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=3722113#Post3722113
(scroll down when there)

It may also draw more shooters with a smaller round count.

Re: NOV. 2012 SH LONG RANGE RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

thanks again Top Predator for taking the time run the competition.
i understands the after 15 rounds getting old part, but i think 25 rounds at 100 yard is more of a true test of one's shooting skill and mental endurance, also a true test of wind reading skills( wind would have most likely changed more than once during 25 rounds fired), many times, i had first 15 or 20 rounds all in the 10 ring, then the last 10 rounds or so, either the wind changed direction or i am getting tired and careless, i would drop 5 points on the last 9 or 10 rounds, but i take it as part of learning process. so i think we ought to stay at 25 rounds, or at least 20 rounds per target at 100 yards.

Re: NOV. 2012 SH LONG RANGE RIMFIRE COMPETITIONS

I actually wouldn't mind trying a 50 round gong match at the 100 and 200 yd ranges. Seems like the scores for 25 rd gong matches are fairly tightly clustered toward the 23-25 range. Might spread the scores out a bit, and really test your consistency. Might also test your patience when you find that one flyer in the box of ammo.
