Long story short, bought a Bushnell Excursion 15-45 with the Mildot reticule about 2+ years ago. I was out of the country for most of the time so I used it all of a handful of hours without issue.

I come home and take it out thinking it may be time to 'trade up' to something better as I will be shooting from what I feel, further than this spotter is intended for and take it out with me to the range; the first time I adjust the magnification setting, the twisting motion somehow moves the reticule inside the spotter - not from me twisting too hard, but somehow the reticule angles itself WITH the turn about 15 degrees. Fantastic.

I read on here a while back that they discontinued these spotters and they will end up sending me a 'newer' variant without the reticule; is this true? Or since this is over 2 years old (yet next to never used) am I out of luck or how would this work with them?

A little pissed that something that has seen its hardest use while being shipped from the vendor already took a shit like this.

I have had experience with bushnell customer service. first, Bought a pair of binos. Took them out of the closet for use and the middle hinge was broken. sent them in (10 bux) and they said I dropped them and gave me a coupon to order another set for $45 bux (that was their discounted price) I tossed the coupon and broken binos.

Second, Bought a used Millet trs-1 scope($215) for an intermediate scope to use on my 300 win mag. I was sighting it in and was turning the power up and down and the mag ring locked up. sent it in with 10 bux and they sent me an atac camo'd one because I would have had to wait another month to get black.

I know its cliche but I got what I paid for... I try to deal with Vortex now. IF I ever need the warrenty I can get a replacement no matter what ... guaranteed

I'll give them a call today/Tuesday and see whats up. Anyone know what the 'replacement' spotter would be? The upside to this is that I would pretty much have a brand new in box spotter to sell to go towards something more towards the high end.

they were a little hard to get going, but they replaced my mil/moa trs-1 with a working one in mil/mil. the first one didnt have all the elevation it should have. then i bought a DMS 1-4x here that had a zoom ring that was ridiculous stiff. sent it in and they sent a new one thats perfect. they have always done me right. call the service center and get the head guy. or post on facebook and he will reply
