Watch Out for Scammers!
We've now added a color code for all accounts. Orange accounts are new members, Blue are full members, and Green are Supporters. If you get a message about a sale from an orange account, make sure you pay attention before sending any money!
I couldn't help but notice that lots of guys are dumping their PSTs. Often times it is for completley unrelated reasons (life happened a bill came due) from scope quality, etc.
For a couple of reasons; fading popularity, and the "gotta have the latest and greatest" are both going on. Everyone wanted to set thier rifles up for 3 gun, 1-4 optics were the scopes of choice, now its moving to 1-6 and 1-8. Also many are just going back to red dots now that the tingles have gone, realizing a 1X scope isnt as fast to the eye as a red dot, the extra weight is another factor.
There are a lot of USO and S&B up for sell. People decide to sell for different reasons. I have Sightron S3 10x I've thought about about selling a few times to fund a different scope. But I really like it and it's good scope. I end up deciding to keep it. If I ever do list for sell it won't be because I didn't like it.
As Don-n-Texas said, many brands of scopes for sale. It's most likely the economy and there seems to be a trend switching to mil/mil scopes with slightly higher top end magnification, which I have noticed over the last several months.
There are a lot of Viper PST scopes for sale because they have been a fairly popular item for the past two years. People buy and sell scopes all the time, mostly out of desire to try something new. I wouldn't try to extrapolate anything from the number of a particular brand of optics for sale at any given time, any more than I'd try to extrapolate from the number of a particular brand of rifle for sale.
I've got 3 PSTs and just got a Razor. Was thinking of selling one or two to fund another Razor or another Nightforce, but then again I might just keep what I've got only because they work well enough for me. To me, scopes seem to be a progression type of thing until you hit the holy grail of scopes. Then you start to collect 'em.
