Looking to put my Rem 700 in .243 into an AICS, it has a Jewell trigger. From my little research sounds like the stock has to be modified for this? If so what needs to be done?

That's why it dropped in, no safety.

Re: AICS with Jewell trigger?

Ya, the barrel action will drop into the AICS stock with the Jewell trigger installed but when you need to switch the safely it wont let you as the safety lever needs to bow outward a bit as it moves back and forth. .hence you need to mill a bit off the side for it to function properly. if no safety then no issue.

Re: AICS with Jewell trigger?

I used the search function and came up with this. I'm just curious if the newest AICS 2.0 has provisions to accept a jewell trigger? My barreled action should be here in a few weeks and I'm curious if I'm going to need to have a smith do what is in the pic to mine. It doesn't look exactly like that one, so I don't think that they made any design changes to allow the jewell without modification. Thanks for any info. Also, if there is a member who does this on the side or for real, I might consider sending it out to them. I'd hate to jack up my expensive barreled action.
