I want to get night sights on my Shield. Are they any different that standard sights or are they smaller? Who has sights for the Shield?

Re: M&P Shield night sights

They are the same as the regular M&Ps.

Every major sight maker has M&P sights. My favorite are the TruGlo TFOs. Fiber optics and tritium sights in one, anyone that has any sense changes all their sights over to these.

Re: M&P Shield night sights

I contacted Novak sights. They said the Shield sight are different from regular M&P sights. They're narrower. They said they could modify a set to fit the Shield.

How tuff are the fiber optic TruGlos? I don't have any fiber optic sights on any of my guns. Only tritums.

Re: M&P Shield night sights

Personally I prefer XS 'big dot' night sights. There are an oversized front tritium dot and a white index line for the rear. I find in low light situations that my eyes take just an extra 'tick' trying to figure out which of the three dots is the front sight with standard three dot sights. I am faster with the oversized front dot and index line. You just stack them and pull the trigger.

I too run the tru-glo tfo and it is the best dim and bright light sight. the tritium and fiber optics are awesome to have them glowing in many situations.

Re: M&P Shield night sights

TFO's all the way. Not only are they a great night sight, but the fiber optic glows like a beacon in the day time, making your front sight easy to pick up. Think of it as a poor man's RMR, when distances are such that your front sight is all you need to see, which is the most likely case in CCW.

The thing I do not like about the big dot sights is they do not allow for enough precision when precision is what I want or need.

^^^^^^THIS

Re: M&P Shield night sights

I guess I kinda like the XS standard dot over the Big dot. Do they make the rear sight line in tritinum or is it just white paint?

Re: M&P Shield night sights

And how about a gunsmith recommendation to install what I decide on?

are these tall enough to get over a can 1.5" in diameter?

Re: M&P Shield night sights

Actually need to correct something. You can get XS sights with the rear sight index line in tritium. So you can get tritium front and back. I thought this was the case, but I flipped my Glock with the sights and had to do some research.

Re: M&P Shield night sights

Has anyone used AmeriGlo sight? Tritium insert with a white outline.
