the hawke varmint 6-24x44mm is what i was considering until i saw the thickness of the cross hairs. i also like how that scope has the mil scaled for 10x so that it provides finer holdovers when on 11+ power. i currently have a thicker mil reticle and want thinner and more marks to help me with .22 precision. i do not want illumination unless it is located in the side parralax spot; otherwise it looks terrible. yes aesthetics mean enough to me that i am okay with missing out on a viable option if it has an unsymmetrical housing. i also do not want to deal with adjustable objective; i have one and it adds to much bulk in my opinion.
if someone has the scope they recommend could you put up an image on the max magnification so i can better assess the crosshairs thickness? maybe place a universal object in the reticle for us to better determine the thickness?
as of now the hawke 6-24x44 is just about perfect for my needs but i would like to find finer cross hairs if i can for a similar price; e.g. <300$. does anyone have any images of the varmint on 24x so i can see the thickness of the cross hairs?
