Hi all...... I bought a Savage 10 FCP HS Precision .308 24" Heavy 1/10 yesterday. Today..... The Vortex 6-24x50 FFP MRAD 30mm Scope.

My question is, how do I finish it? I plan on using the EGW picatinny short rail.... but do I get the 0 moa or 20 moa? 90% of my shooting will be within 300 yards.... 500 yards a little bit. I hope to find a place to try 1000 yards someday.
I was also planning on using Vortex rings.....alot seem to like Burris extremes.....Low? Mid? High?...I know nothing about this....new to me.
Which bipod?

Thanks!

Re: Help with mounting scope needed

I'd stick the +20moa mount on it just in case you do decide to shoot out to 1000 yards. Nice rings, very well made. A low should suffice, my son has the Seekins med and it leaves a bit of a gap but that really isn't an issue as long as you're tracking true. We have a few shooters come up and shoot with us at Rayners from Kentucky thru the summer. It's a long drive but you'd really get addicted to that distant "ding" of the hit on steel.

Before I forget, Welcome to the Hide. Lots of good info here if you use the search function. Think you'll like that Savage, we're big Savage fans here also.

Good luck

Agree with Topstrap. Go with at least 20moa mount, since it will give you much more flexibility with your rifle when shooting at greater distances.
