Hello All,

Just wanted to put the word out to anyone who might be interested in making a future purchase from tacticalrifles.net that's based out of Florida.

Back in January of 2011, I submitted an order with Tactical Rifles and paid a $2500 down payment on one of their M40A5 rifles. I was assured that I would be receiving my new rifle within 6 to 8 months there after. Well, it's now nearly December of 2012 and I'm coming up on the two year mark and still no rifle.

Two years ago, I had the distinct displeasure of meeting one of the owners for Tactical Rifles at the SHOT show in Vegas. Since then, I have been on the phone with him exactly three times in nearly two years. I believe that he's British, which would explain some of his rude behavior, I guess.

After about six months following the original order date, I finally picked up the phone and called Tactical Rifles. The office ladies were very nice, but the British guy was a totally different story. He basically chewed me out for calling him and he informed me that I shouldn't call back again unless I receive an email or phone call stating that my gun was in the production phase because it took time away from him and his people to produce guns. I guess that I could understand that to a certain point, but in the past when I've had a particular rifle built to my specs, costing thousands of dollars, the people on the other end of the line were always more than happy to answer any of my questions.

These types of sniper rifle platforms aren't cheap by no means. I mean we're not talking about some off the shelf BB gun or something. This is a big investment and I feel that if an individual sends a down payment of $2500 to a manufacturer, then there shouldn't be any problem with receiving a phone call from a customer that hasn't bothered anyone with questions until six months after the order was originally placed.

I guess what I'm trying to say is this; even though Tactical Rifles may or may not produce some of the best sniper rifle platforms on the planet, if anyone plans on making a future purchase with this company, you may want to deal with a different person in the company and be prepared for a very long wait.

If I actually do receive my new rifle before I die of old age, I'll try to keep you all posted and let you know if the long, over-due wait as well as the rude customer service was actually worth it.

Keep your powder dry my friends. Until next time.

Re: Tactical Rifles firearms company

I've been reading this forum for a long time and this is my first post. That being said, after reading the horror stories and speaking with the guy at TacticalRifles.net, I took my business elsewhere. He wasn't rude per se, but he was certainly pushy. After doing some reading here and other places, I made an informed decision never to deal with them again.

I hope it works out for you man. Will they offer a refund? or is that not even on the plate right now.

Re: Tactical Rifles firearms company

i wish more people would just come here and read for like a month before posting. it would save them so much hassle

Re: Tactical Rifles firearms company

did you pay with a debit card or credit card?

if so you call them and tell them you payed in advance to be put on a waiting list for an item and have yet to revive and item. send any receipts and notices you have as well.

if you paid by another means then ask for a refund. if they refuse then take them to small claims court. there is no room in this country for shady firearms dealers

Re: Tactical Rifles firearms company

They DON'T build the best precision rifles on the planet. I know because I had one a long time ago, and sold it. There are many builders on The Hide that do a better job in many ways, not to mention they treat their customers like they would family. If you have that quoted time on paper, go get your money back now. BTW, I don't know the details, but the mere mention of that company on this site is a problem. Good luck.

Well said Joe.

While I'm sorry to hear of the problems for the OP, he really ought to have done a little due diligence on Tactical Rifles.

Re: Tactical Rifles firearms company

It is amazing that shop is still open. I really feel for you...promises, promises. And after two years to be treated like a bother; I think I would first go to the local BBB. It won't do anything, but, just another complaint for others to watch out for later. These guys do some shady stuff and really should be out of business.

Re: Tactical Rifles firearms company

This is too much of a reoccurring theme, too bad for anyone with time and money invested in their product. Very sad!

There are currently 2 other threads actively running on bad experiences with this company. This one makes it 3. Coincidence?? Nope, just a crappy company.

Ive had shitty experiences with bad smiths. Good on you for keeping your cool, a better man than I......

It's amazing how friendly Mr. Rooney is until he gets your money. I had the "pleasure" of talking to him once, he will chat your ear off if he thinks there is a sale. Greasy used car, err i mean, rifle salesman.
