Hello All,
Just wanted to put the word out to anyone who might be interested in making a future purchase from tacticalrifles.net that's based out of Florida.
Back in January of 2011, I submitted an order with Tactical Rifles and paid a $2500 down payment on one of their M40A5 rifles. I was assured that I would be receiving my new rifle within 6 to 8 months there after. Well, it's now nearly December of 2012 and I'm coming up on the two year mark and still no rifle.
Two years ago, I had the distinct displeasure of meeting one of the owners for Tactical Rifles at the SHOT show in Vegas. Since then, I have been on the phone with him exactly three times in nearly two years. I believe that he's British, which would explain some of his rude behavior, I guess.
After about six months following the original order date, I finally picked up the phone and called Tactical Rifles. The office ladies were very nice, but the British guy was a totally different story. He basically chewed me out for calling him and he informed me that I shouldn't call back again unless I receive an email or phone call stating that my gun was in the production phase because it took time away from him and his people to produce guns. I guess that I could understand that to a certain point, but in the past when I've had a particular rifle built to my specs, costing thousands of dollars, the people on the other end of the line were always more than happy to answer any of my questions.
These types of sniper rifle platforms aren't cheap by no means. I mean we're not talking about some off the shelf BB gun or something. This is a big investment and I feel that if an individual sends a down payment of $2500 to a manufacturer, then there shouldn't be any problem with receiving a phone call from a customer that hasn't bothered anyone with questions until six months after the order was originally placed.
I guess what I'm trying to say is this; even though Tactical Rifles may or may not produce some of the best sniper rifle platforms on the planet, if anyone plans on making a future purchase with this company, you may want to deal with a different person in the company and be prepared for a very long wait.
If I actually do receive my new rifle before I die of old age, I'll try to keep you all posted and let you know if the long, over-due wait as well as the rude customer service was actually worth it.
Keep your powder dry my friends. Until next time.
