Hey all,
Almost every shooter I talk to has no idea who or what Edge Eyewear is unless they've had experience with their old school safety glasses. SHOT show 2012 had Edge Eyewear there with their new tactical line of ballistic glasses. They have spent a lot of time (near 18 months as I was told) developing an anti-fog coating for the lens that will make steam vapor bead up and run (non polarized models only), 3X anti-scratch coating, and their polarized glasses have a progressive shading that really make them steller in low light! We've had these in stock for awhile and of the few we've sold, they've gotten rave reviews. I've been wearing a pair for 2 months now and they are by far my favorite sunglasses! Check 'em out if you get the chance, they may surprise you in how tough they are at a price FAR less than their competitors!

Has anybody else had any experience with these? I think once Edge gets some more exposure, they will start catching on!

EDIT: I added this link below but for those of you who haven't seen it, here's a video about their Vaporshield lens coating. Saw this at SHOT and it was really cool to see it in action.

Re: New line for the tactical eyewear....

i'm def interested in trying a pair...i've been wearing my costa's when I go shoot...but i'd much rather leave them at home while i'm shooting since they're not rated...

i'm thinking i want to try the Kazbek in g15 and the reclus gradient polarized

Re: New line for the tactical eyewear....

Thanks for the few orders I got today folks!

GSRswapandslow,
The "Kazbek" is their safety glass rated models, but the styling is the same as the "Blade Runners" on my site. The "Reclus" you mention will be the "Hamel" models in the ballistic glass category. I have both of these in stock but only one left of the G15 smoked regular Blade Runners. Let me know if you would like to place an order and I'll get them out to you!

Re: New line for the tactical eyewear....

Hey everyone, I wanted to update this thread and let you know some more details about these glasses. I realize after talking with my Edge agent that I forgot to mention the Vaporshield anti-fog dip that Edge has developed is only available on NON-POLARIZED models. Apparently the polarizing process is not compatible with their Vaporshield technology so please keep this in mind.

Here is a video I found online about their Vaporshield technology. Not the greatest video but you get the idea. At SHOT this year they had a steam machine setup in their booth and their glasses would literally bead and run with zero fogging. They had the top Oakleys and Smiths there as well and they were fogging up about as quickly as could be.

Frapiscide,
PM is coming inbound your way regarding the RX lens options!

Thanks everyone!

Re: New line for the tactical eyewear....

There are a few major differences...
So the biggest difference is that all the glasses in the tactical line are TAA (Trade act agreement) compliant so there made in Taiwan, meaning that the government has a good relationship with Taiwan and they are an approved country to do business with. The safety line of glasses is made in China. The other thing about the tactical line is that they all have 3X anti scratched coating on them so their dipped 3 times in the coating rather than once with our regular line. I've been wearing regular edge polarized safety glasses for the better part of 7 years and I can tell you that the anti-scratch properties of the 3X dip is MUCH better. My pair that I've been wearing for 2 months does not have a single scratch on the lens, and it always seems that I would put a ding in the lens within the first week or three with the safety glasses line. Also, in the tactical line, all but the polarized have Vapor Shield coating on them as well which means they have a military grade anti fog on them which is impervious to fog which you noticed in the video posted above... the polarized can’t have the vapor shield because of the polarized technology, it interferes with the vapor shield.

I hope this answers your questions!

I've used them with an old school pair of hearing pro muffs that are pretty bulky and they work fine. You have to put the glasses on first then the muffs but they work. Don't think they'd be any worse than other pairs on the market but could be wrong! Thanks!
