Make sure you give us a range report once you take delivery!

    Re: Christmas is coming early

that is very interesting. i havent seen anything like it. what is that optic?

    Re: Christmas is coming early

it's a C-more on a 90 degree mount, gets the Dot as close as possible to the top of the slide

    Re: Christmas is coming early

That is awesome.. I shoot factory guns for the time being, but would love to shoot an open gun just once.. They are just so incredibly fast.. Im super jealous right now.

Man, that thing looks awesome!! I love how the slide lightening is integrated into the forward cocking serrations.

    Looks like it.

    Re: Christmas is coming early

yes it's a Matt Cheely build

    38 super
    Titanium comp
    STI frame
    2lb trigger
    spiral fluted bull barrel
    and his magic

    Re: Christmas is coming early

First off, the gun is beautiful. Second, I have a question and no disrespect meant in any way. Why the choice for such a large dot dight when there are smaller alternatives that could be mounted cleaner directly to the slide?

    Re: Christmas is coming early

Because a Cmore is light years better than an unreliable slide mounted micro dot sight

I've had several different types of slide mounted reddots on openguns to my 22 steel gun and though the are lower than a traditional C-more mounted reddots they have all the same thing in common at least for me and that is they have failed or quit working but I have never had a C-more go bad.plus with the 90 degree mount it is as low as you can get a Dot.I can shoot with either one and have but will stick with the c-more.I've used tasco propoints, aim points and C-more all frame mounted then switched to a tasco
optima slide mounted then to the Burris fast fire slide mounted

    Re: Christmas is coming early

Thanks for the reply. I have no experience with pistol mounted red dots except on .22's. I would guess on a pistol build that is purely a game gun size of the sight hanging off the side doesn't matter anyway. Enjoy it....it looks fast.

    Re: Christmas is coming early

Must...get...C More. That is an awesome pistol, thanks for pics and motivation.

    Re: Christmas is coming early

Super cool looking .45. What year did that come out 2050??

Looks like it would shoot green laser bolts or something. Haha.

    Re: Christmas is coming early

did some load testing today over the chrono and for groups.3N37 ended up being the powder that yeilded the best results.
    Caliber 38 super
    8.4grs of 3N37
    OAL 1.253
    MTG 124 fmj
    avg. vel of 1370fps
gave me a powerfactor of right at 170
here are a couple of the groups shot at 20yds.Both groups are 5 shots
