Re: leather grips 1911

Very interesting, how well do they grip into your hand? I am curious as when wet, raw leather still has a lot better grip than lots of other materials.

Re: leather grips 1911

I just made them last night and i have not sealed them yet. I can tell you they are some of the most comfortable grips I have ever used

Re: leather grips 1911

Those look cool!

What kind of leather you using? Cowhide or Horse?

I've never heard of leather grips for pistol. But didn't it used to be very popular for knife handles back in the day?

Keep us posted! I'd try some out if you made them available to buy!

I don't have any 1911's anymore... Can you help me class-up my Glock

?

Re: leather grips 1911

That's awesome! I really dig it! One recommendation though: a good set of 1911 grips supports the plunger tube. Maybe put a plate or something solid under the leather on the left grip panel to support the plunger tube? ?

Re: leather grips 1911

Those are AWSOME! Are they rigid enough to stay in place while firing? You should burn an image into them before you seal them!

Re: leather grips 1911

Not only can you carve leather, but you can also tattoo it... Someone might find that interesting.
