How many of you are using Spuhr mounts? The reason I ask is because I have one and I love the thing but it seems to be that it sits too high. I had to get a .625 spacer to put under the cheek piece on my TRG just to get my eyes level where i can view through the scope. The problem I am having is that this seems to be a problem with getting a good cheek weld, especially in prone. A buddy of mine told me to remove the spacer and go back to the regular one, in which case I did and tried it again and with a proper cheek weld I am looking at the level on the mount. Obviously nowhere near looking through the scope. So, I went back to the spacer and it seems to put me peeping through the glass but is just plain awkward for me to use. This is why I prefer to keep the scope as close to the barrel as possible, but I really like this mount. does anyone have any suggestions?

I agree with your assessment. I really like the Spuhr on my AR, but went with Seekins rings for my TRG. The Spuhr is just too high for me.

Yes he does. I really like his idea of eliminating the rail and mounting directly to the receiver.

Hakan: Please consider some lower height options for the TRG mount. I think they would be popular.

The one for the TRG is the one I am talking about guys...it sits too high IMO. See now I am not crazy excited about having to switch considering this thing cost me $350 already...

What scope are you using it with? I have a Spuhr with TRG mount with the Premier Heritage 3-15x50 on a TRG-22 with folding stock and it's just about perfect with maybe one click up of the adjustable cheekpiece from the lowest (standard) setting of the cheekpiece.

Sorry but I really can't understand the issue here.
If the scope is to high and the spacer gets the checkpiece to high, but something in betwen that is in the middle then?

Personally I don't have my cheekpiece on the same spot in prone as in other positions if I have time to change.
One of my guns are set up with a SP4701 (1,35") and the other with a ST4702 (1,73") and I have perfect checkwelds with both guns.

I think for some of us, it may come down to differences in facial structure as well as shooting style. Offering different height mounts would give more shooters the opportunity to utilize your excellent mounts while accommodating those variations and preferences.

Sorry but I dont Think it has to do with facial structure.
If you find the scopemount to high it's likely by 1/10" or maybe up to 1/4"
The Sako spacer is .400" or something, but instead of using that you can as well put in 1/10" homemade spacer and archive same result as if I did the mount 1/10" lower.

We do likely Have the world most comprehensive program of Tactical scopemounts, over 35 models now.
The only way of making things somewhat reasoable priced is to make it in volume.
And as our mount now on TRG is a perfect height for a 56mm objective the market for a 1/10" lower mount is highly limited.

What height is your current rings?

    Re: Spuhr Mounts...

I am using the Spuhr 3701 I believe. Everyone keeps telling me that they have never seen anyone need a spacer to use with the TRG and this set up but I seem to have to. I am running the Spuhr 3701 with a .625 spacer which is huge just to have my eye line up with the scope. Now it could be that I have the scope mounted too far back as it is centered in the rings currently but I am afraid that if I move it forward that it is still not going to give me a correct line of sight. I have tried without the spacer but again it is too high. I either have to use the huge spacer or I have to raise my head a good deal off the cheek piece and we all know what that generally does. I am going to play around with it some more to see if I can figure it out if not I will have to sell it and get something else which I hate because it is a nice piece. Oh a d I am running a Leupold 6.5-20x50 Mk 4 m5

    Re: Spuhr Mounts...

Why not put something lower instead of the huge spacer? a spacer that is 1/8 or 1/4" would certainly be more approperiate.

If you add a picatinny to the gun, that is usally building 10mm/.400".
If you then put normal 1" high rings on you will get exactly the same height as our TRG mounts, that is 35mm or 1,35".
