Rifle Scopes USO wait times?

Re: USO wait times?

I have an sn-3 5-25 on order. I am still waiting. The end of this week is 23 weeks since I got my invoice.

Re: USO wait times?

23 weeks, huh? That's awful.

I'm not sure I'd do this USO thing again. They were totally unresponsive when I asked about lead times before ordering, so I just had to guess. The lack of communication is appalling. They were happy enough to take my money though.

Sorry Sir,

I am a newbie - and an alien - here but still, I have a dog in the fight.

And my question is : What is the meaning of "DFP" ?

So Leo also ordred a 5-25 for Slyfox?.......because there is no 5-25 on Leo's account.

Re: USO wait times?

Mine shipped yesterdsay and it was like 10 weeks......SN-3 3.2-17 ERGO

Re: USO wait times?

Sent you a PM Lazy

Also, yeah the wait sucks...a lot. I understand it takes time to hand craft a quality scope though so as long as there is a light at the end of the tunnel I guess all I can do is wait. I am sure I will have to endure a crazy wait whenever I order up their sn-8 with day light visible red dot (which I will definitely do as soon as its available).

Lmao, you'll be hated by many for that comment

. Slyfox might just jump on the next flight to Florida just to punch you in the face. Those with milestone ereks, those are marked priority. Parts were just finished last week.

Re: USO wait times?

i have a 5x25x58 ordered i was told 8 weeks and its is now week 11 as of last wednesday

Re: USO wait times?

the whole thing sort of pissed me off to be honest. every "custom" thing i wanted and had ordered on the web pages wasn't available. the woman i talked to ("Becky" was really sweet and i felt bad because i could tell she has had to deal with this before) i originally wanted the 3.5 x 22 x 58. i get a call from her and she said they don't offer the 58 mm on that scope any more (even though it was on there web page) but they would upgrade it to a 5.x25 x 58. so i agreed, then she said they didn't have the knobs i wanted ( i wanted the dust covers) well they were out of them and i could get them but i would have to wait longer if i did, so i chose another type. Then she told me we have another problem, the reticle i wanted wasn't offered on the 5x25x58 so i had to choose a different one. so i chose another one. i wanted the windage nob on the left side and i was told that isn't the normal configuration but we can do it if you want. at that point i just said put it in what ever normal configuration it comes in i don't want it to cause more problems i just want my scope. she agreed and it was ordered. and then i asked how long it would take and she said 8 weeks. so at 8 weeks i called and left a message asking about it and got a prompted response that it was still in assembly , and if i hadn't herd back from them by the end of the month to feel free to contact her again. well its the end of the month (week 11) and i sent another email and haven't herd back yet. now i see in here that slyfox is on week 23, ok wow ya i will think twice before ordering another scope from USoptics again.

Re: USO wait times?

they are worth every bit of the wait.

i have a 5-25X58 T-PAL (got it from lazy21) i love it
i would not have picked another scope.

P.S Lazy21 is a great guy to deal with.

Re: USO wait times?

Re: USO wait times?

Re: USO wait times?

Re: USO wait times?

Replied to both of you(Luna/aj).....next guy that sends me a pm better be buying a scope

Re: USO wait times?

Well here was there response with no mention of a time frame.

Hi Heather,
Your scope is moving along through production and unfortunately it is not ready yet. I apologize but all of our scopes are a custom order and we are continuously working hard to deliver a quality product. Thank you for your patience. Sincerely, Becky RodieckCustomer Service/SalesU.S. Optics, Inc.150 Arovista CircleBrea, CA 92821

Re: USO wait times?

Heather, I wouldn't hold that last email against Becky. All time frames they give customers are estimates. There is no way of knowing exactly when a scope will be done. When I quote a customer, I always add +/- because like strike mentioned. I quoted him 8 weeks and we had it done in two, in another case. I quoted 12 weeks and right @ 5 months it shipped(Yes Matt I'm talking about you

). USO is a small shop and just about all parts are made in the shop. I know for a fact that they all work very hard to get orders done in a timely matter.

Just kidding - I am looking at mid December. Can't wait !

Re: USO wait times?

i would never hold an email over some one that works for them (like i said before Becky was quit pleasant to talk with).that being said i was told at week eight that the scope was waiting to be assembled, and now its in production?. i'm sure it doesn't take 4 weeks to assemble a scope. i think the "its a custom scope place" is a cop-out.they could be capable of giving a date if they want to. i worked for a machine shop and 90 % of what we did was custom and we had no problems meeting our deadlines and or giving a date when it could be expected and have it in there hands at that date. if they cant give a date its because they are not managing things. or maybe biting off more then they can chew.

Re: USO wait times?

Ok Luna, I'm done here. I hope everything turns out well for you.

Re: USO wait times?

Luna,
Assembly is my department. Send me an e-mail with the name on the order and I will get you the best hard date I possible can. I will not be working this weekend and i'm not on the hide that much so e-mail works best. [email protected].

Thanks,

Jason

Re: USO wait times?

Jason, get off the hide and finish my(personal) 5-25

Re: USO wait times?

I have had 4 USO scopes in diffrent configurations. I have been to the USO factory several times. I live about 20 miniuts away from them. Here are my personal observations about the factory. They really make scopes one at a time. I saw bins with customers build parts in them. I saw scopes being assembled in the clean room one at a time. In the shop there were probably a few hundred parts bins with the diffrent parts they used to make scopes. In the machine shop aera they were making scope parts.
In the quality control area Arnold was checking scopes. He must have had 50 scopes on his table and the shelf behind him. I usually deal with Becky when I go there. She has taken my orders and she is the one I prefer to deal with. When you deal with Becky keep in mind she is VERY busy.
My build times varied from 8 weeks to 6 months. The one that took 6 month was due to someone falling through the roof in the clean room. It looks like they make all thier own parts so if they dont have them in stock you will have to wait for them to make one. There is no assembly line in a custom scope shop. They are made one at a time.
USO is one of the finest companies I have ever done business with. Becky and Arnold are the best in the business. .

Re: USO wait times?

UPDATE: Jason you Rock!

Good Morning Heather,

I should have your scope done by tomorrow. It will then have to be QC’d. Barring any unforeseen circumstances it should ship by the end of the week.

Thanks,
Jason

Jason.

when you emailed me earlier i was working and i had to make a quick response.

but i wanted to let you know how much i appreciated what you're doing for me.

it was very sweet of you to go out of your way for me and i cant thank you enough.

Sincerely
Heather T.

Heather my pleasure. I did happen to check on it before I left the office. It's completed already so in the morning I will get a serial number on it and then off to quality control.

Jason

Re: USO wait times?

Last year, I had to deal with Jason and he did for me what he just did for you : he went out of his way to accomodate me.

The people at US Optics are a small bunch but, the way I see it, they work hard.

Re: USO wait times?

Re: USO wait times?

My SN3 ERGO just took like 10-11 weeks...

Re: USO wait times?

My sn3 5-25 just came TODAY!!! WOOO!! I put in my order on June 22, and it came on December 20! Upon first pulling it out of the box, it was so worth the wait. I cannot wait to get this thing down to the range. I will post some pictures (although I am sure everyone is tired of seeing these scopes) when I get it mounted up. Thanks USO for making one kick butt product!

Re: USO wait times?

It took about 16 weeks for my sn3 and it was my first time dealing with USO and I am 100% satisfied with it. When I finally had time to pick up my scope from there facility I realized why they have such long lead times and knowing the process that they use to make their fine scopes it is understandable on how the wait is an estimated time. Damn good scope.
