Nashville, TN
I live in Nashville, TN....wondering how many other TN shooters on here. I know of a few ranges, but, was looking ranges closest to the Nashville area, and thought maybe someone would know about a place. Looking to meet some other shooters. I'm new to long distance shooting, and would like to find a club or some other people to shoot with...Thanks!!

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Greetings.

Depends how far you want to shoot? Let me know and I can make some suggestions.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

I'm just starting out with long distance, so until I learn and practice more, I would say in the 300-600yd range. Thank you for the response..

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

I'm in Hendersonville and I shoot at Terry Waldens in Manchester for 330 yards. I use Montgomery Shooting Complex south of Clarksville for 400 yards. Rockcastle in KY you can go out to 1,000+. For 100 yards I go to CHMR.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Thanks for the info! I've heard of Terry Waldens. Been thinking about taking a trip out there soon. That's about all I could locate on the net. I've been to CHMR. I have to say, Rockcastle looks incredible. Looks pretty affordable too, considering the ammeneties. There is definitely a lot more around me than I thought, which is encouraging

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Montgomery is hands down the nicest range in middle TN. Just a little harder to get to.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Montgomery looks really nice too..Just a little harder for me to get out on the weekends. Rates are very reasonable.

Thanks for the welcome

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

I'm in the same boat as oldsoul, Im about to be stationed at the army recruiting station in manchester and need desperately to find somewhere to shoot. Just purchased a new rig and need to stretch her legs out.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Yea I googled it, definitely going to be checking it out in July when I get there.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

welcome to the boards...im sure you will find everything you need here and more

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Terry's looks really nice.. Good shooting from the boy

What do you need to bring target wise? Are there yardages marked? Wasn't sure if there were target stands or steel provided...Thanks for the video!!

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

It's pretty self explanatory, you will see when you get there.

Targets are at 100, 200 and farthest are 330 yards.

Yes bring targets. At 330 are old gas cylinders you can shoot.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

HI guys,
Im a New member as well in middle TN. (Williamson Co.)

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

welcome to the boards Tempest..

One important rule to remember is...never use the snipershide search before asking a question. Use a generic search engins...snipershide blah blah blah...that will yield much better results and avoid any floggings (there are some here that operate on a hair trigger)

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Hello everyone from west tn! Ive been into guns my whole life, been shooting idpa pistol matches for awhile and recently got the itch to get a long range rifle. Now that i have one i have no one to shot with or anywhere to go so now im thinking i shouldnt have got one and just bought me a new pistol or something. So if anyone is in west tn and would like to shoot and has somewhere to let me know because im thinking about selling my brand new set up before i ever get to try it out and i really dont want to.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Montgomery Shooting Complex is just south of you and probably the nicest range in middle TN.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

What's available south of Nashville? I'm in Huntsville, AL and I drive about 45 mins south to get a range with a 200 yard max. Wondering if anything north towards Nashville within comparable distance has more space.

There is a new 1000 yard range close to you. They just started it a year or so ago. Last I heard the 600 was finished and weren't far from the 1000 yard. I'll see if I can find the link for ya.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

Giving this thread a bump to introduce myself.

I'm a long time lurker in middle TN that finally has some time to get out and shoot. I try to get out to Terry Walden's at least a couple times a month. If there is anyone in the area that would like to shoot or find a place to shoot further distances, I'd be interested in meeting up.

Re: New Member, Tennesee...

I live about 6 miles away in manchester. Work has been a killer though lately and the wife works weekends. I have been itching to get out and shoot though brent. My 60 in tv is getting boring.

I hear you. Wish I could make it out more than I do. At least it seems like there is a pretty good size TN group on this site.
