Rifle Scopes Vortex PST choice

Time to upgrade my glass on my 20 inch AR..

Have been debating between the PST 4x16 or 6x24 both FFP in mils
500 to 600 is the farthest I would be going...

I dont think I would go higher than 4-16 on a AR. Mine has a 3x9. I have a 6x24x50 pst on my bolt gun.

Missed the AR part. Agreed with the 4-16

I'm a firm believer that it's better to have more magnification than you "think" you need, than to not have enough when you actually do . IIRC with the PST line the price difference between the 4-16x and 6-24x is ~$50. I have two 6-24x's and although I mostly use them at ~17-18x it is always nice to know I have extra the magnification if needed. YMMV

My 4-16 is perfect for out to about 900 or 1000 yards. Farther than that and I wish I had more. If you won'y be going past 600, I would definitely go with the 4-16.
