Re: bdu's

Thrift store. I got some ACU's that will eventually become a ghillie suite @ $12 for both the tops and bottoms. They had some BDU's at the same price, the BDU's were in superb shape as well.

As for new, I don't really have the foggiest.

Re: bdu's

What size do you need? Find some Gray Hairs, they have OD, BDU and ACU...

They get sold in the equipment exchange and post exchange all the time.

Re: bdu's

Should have posted 20 years ago, I tossed a bunch of them. But I was little back then, they might not have fit.

But as mentioned, there are tons of them in thrift stores.

Me, I'm looking for the old wool pants and shirts, I think they were called OGs but I'm not sure.

Re: bdu's

Biggest I can handle would be 34s, I tried 36s and can't keep them on.

Thanks though.

Re: bdu's

I wish I could find the old Vietnam style ODs. Large top, med bottoms if anyone has them and is looking to sell them.

The angle pocket ones (time frame 1968).

Re: bdu's

I think the wife has been reading my post, she just presented me with a like new set of OG (wool) pants and shirt.

Re: bdu's

No sir, I was talking about the OG or wool pants & shirts they had in the Korean war era up to the 70s.

I used them when I was in the Guard in Alaska and really like them.

But thanks anyway.

Re: bdu's

Sometimes Surplus Stores in cold weather country will have those Swedish infantry pants: 100% heavy wool, double knees and seat with plastic between the layers, lots of cargo pockets. they are chap, too, about 15-25 dollars.
I used them when I was doing some winter snowshoeing trips.
Loved these for hunting too, since I could take a knee, and not get soaking wet.

Re: bdu's

I loved my woolies for hunting. But now you cant get them in anything bigger than about a 34" waist size. Been looking for several yrs.

Re: bdu's

Surplus stores just outside of army infantry bases. So Tillicum, WA for Ft. Lewis, Columbus, GA for Ft. Benning, etc. Use Google maps to find the towns just outside base gates, then search for "surplus stores" in those towns.

You may want to use the street views of these stores before calling as you are looking for the more run down, smaller, individual small business type stores and not the nice looking ones or chains --they have significantly higher prices.

The smaller ones cater to soldiers at those particular bases, usually, so the gear you find there will be honest to goodness infantry gear. Usually at lower prices or prices you can negotiate with.

clc33, bdus can be had at almost any 'Army Surplus' store. Some have the real deal, some have new versions of the original, some have both. Used can be $10-$15. New $35-$45.
Still much cheaper than some of the tactical clothes that are being sold for $75-$100 and more. Some, if not most will have new versions of GI Jungle Boots. Love my Jungle Boots, wear them most of the time.
