Re: Anyone else get dicked around by Graf's?
Here's what I sent them:
I have purchased nearly $2000 of products from you in less than the last month, and had been extremely happy with the service I had received up until today.
I placed an order last week for some supplies and promptly received a call from a gentleman at your company informing me that the website was wrong, and one of the products in my order was out of stock. I appreciated the call, and accepted the fact that I wasn't going to be getting an accessory for my new 1050 that I wanted. Because of the thoughtfulness of your staff, I added 1000 pieces of .223 brass to my order under the assumption that I would receive unprocessed LC brass as I had requested. My package arrived today, and after opening it and beginning to process the brass, I notice that the brass had been decapped. Upon further inspection I realized that I had been shipped mixed headstamp brass.
I called the 800 number to voice my displeasure, and was told that it is your policy to send out mixed first, then send out the LC once that is gone. I'm sure that given your company's experience, you understand that any serious reloader does not use mixed varieties of brass. I pointed this out and was told "sorry," and that I could pay to ship it back in and you would be so gracious as to not charge me a restocking fee for a product that I did not pay for.
After getting off the phone with a less than satisfactory answer, I went on my way, and annealed the whole batch, and began running it through my new 1050 to resize and trim. Much to my dismay, I broke two decapping pins on brass that had no flash holes. Obviously, this brass was not "once-fired." After stopping to accept the fact that I had been bent over, I get the double-whammy of having my equipment broken in the process.
All I wanted was 1000 pieces of LC brass to prepare a batch of match grade ammo. Instead, I now have 3/4 of the lot that is essentially trash, and not worth my time to package up and return.
After asking around in various shooting forums, I was told that this seemed to be highly unusual service based on the experiences of gentlemen who have probably been reloading longer than I have been alive, and that I should reach out again in hopes that someone would try to make this right. I have attached a link where you can see the offending mis-produced brass as well.
Regards,
Brian
