Great job to all competitors, and excellent job to the cadre at 37 for an excellent match.

Btw it's now called the USAJFKSWCS 2012 Sniper Competition. I guess we're into longer acronyms now.

Re: USASOC

Wished I could have watched. Is this open for view by public or military?

Re: USASOC

Not to be too “Cloak & Dagger” about this but telling too much about the competition would compromise current TTPs and I’m sure none of us would want that.

Re: USASOC

You(public)dont really get access to the entire COF or distances. Most are real life type scenarios that involve extreme induced stress and multiple range contacts per stage. Happens both day and night as well as a Stalk that had 3 of 18 teams completing. Tuff Comp For Tier 1 Men.

"Send it Dave."

I'm sure we'll cross paths soon enough.

FWIW, I also did some flying at Paraclete (vertical wind tunnel),06:00 minutes worth, it was a hoot.

No shit! Sadly, I cringe when I see 10th Group place so low - we used to have Group's best precision shooters back in the late 80s and early 90s.

Well, like most things, I was informed that this comp went out as a tasking so some groups literally jumped through hoops and sent whom ever they had available and with little chance for train up in some cases.Still, much respect to all those who competed in the event as we all know what it's like to get "hey you'd" in the hallway.

Re: USASOC

We gamed it/G-2 it, turned it into a NCOPD and i built a comple guns !! they looked at me funny when i built a 24" barrel AR-10 but same FPS (fast) as the bolt gun and so we standardized our max ord., leads, spin drift and wind calls for both guns, its all worked out both .5 MOA guns, once guns and guys got back we AAR it, i pulled the guns apart and learned some things we can do better next year, will start on next years guns here soon and get a jump on it but thinking both gas guns this year I have a couple idea's on guns/ammo/scopes, check your email John

Re: USASOC

And they were one of very few who made the Stalk. And with that big shinny barrel and no Gillie! I think you HAD to mix in Pixie dust somewhere.

Re: USASOC

Plan was to build the guns get them all setup had a nice train-up which included about 6 stalks than refinish the guns, but once all setup and shooting good they didn't want to pull them apart.

Yep, 4th Annual USASOC Sniper Comp was a great time and I walked away with alot of great training ideas. I can not wait to attend next years event to see what they have in store for us. I can atest that every single competitor was a true professional, the best of the best and clearly deserved to fill their seat and compete. I finally got to see the pics of the comp that got released. There is a pic of me shooting my custom Surgeon Scalple in an APO Saber Chassis System in 7.62x51. I also ran the Bushnell HDMR w/ H59 and was extremely impressed with it.
