Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

Can't say with any authority, the only ones I have now are 2 RRA's. I'm waitin for the LWRC IC to hit, then it's either that or an LMT.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

Larue, Noveske, POF, LMT, ect. Really depends on what kind of setup you are looking for.

Do you want a .223/5.56, 6.8, ect?

What do you consider best?

Yep, those are all solid choices. Had a Noveske 6.8 - scary accurate. I have an LMT MRP piston now with zero regrets.

This ^^^^

Everyone will have their own idea/opinion of what "the best" is based upon their wants or needs. As for me, I'm working toward getting a POF P415 16".

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

If you are going with a factory built gun then Noveske and POF I would say are up at the top of the list. I love my POF. Any Noveske I have seen or shot was top notch as well. You can always build exactly what you want and spend the money on a sweet barrel and trigger and have a fine outfit to fit your needs exactly. Of course the POF is a piston gun as well..

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

Last I heard gen 4 was still a marketing myth atn came up with.So still actually no such thing .

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

I have an lmt mrp 556 piston that i was running for a while, and then I got a 14.5in noveske 300 blackout barrel for my mrp.... It's awesome I haven't met anyone yet that hasn't said its the nicest shooting ar they have ever used.

That being said if I wasn't gonna build a gun or modify it I'd get a noveske and be done with it.

As said above ^^.

With that in mind, and money's no object, here is one list of consistently well-regarded companies (in no particular order). I don't think you'll find complaints with any of these, so decide on the best configuration for you, then find who makes it.

Noveske
LMT
BCM
KAC
LaRue
Centurion (uppers)
Daniel Defense
Colt

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

If your life depends on it, as in LE or Mil, then get a Colt, no-one else compares to the QC required of them by the military.

If it's a fun gun (as 98% are) any of the upper tier brands will be fine, and many of them may be as good as the Colt for reliability.

No one?

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

JP Enterprises and Hogan should probably also be on the go-to list.

If you aren't set on buying a preconfigured package, I'd have someone like Rainier Arms, White Oak, or Compass Lake build me one on Mega's ambidextrous forged upper/lower set.

That rifle looks like it's gonna be a winner man.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

Noveske, BCM, KAC, or LaRue.

LMT is a close second.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

YYY - it would appear that you have an animal control problem (2012 stats). Surely you must need 'help' ridding the land of those hogs.

Not sure LMT is a "close second" as above, but the top mans. have been noted. All about the parts pkg that meets your needs.

Naturally - HK416 would be 'ok' since price isn't a big issue.

LM8MRP or MWS, KAC IWS SBR or Mod1, LWRC SPR, some reason Larue OBRs would be a fun demo, Noveske .

Give Oakland Tact. a call or PM. Good guy to work with.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

JP Enterprise hands down, you don"t need to look any further. If you are a smart person then do a lot of research, look at forums, look at magazine tests, and more importantly talk to those who own one. I have a JP LRP-07 and would not sell or trade it for anything, I have shot many rifles in my time, JP is the best IMO.

The JP is a nice rifle but...it's not an AR-15 and that's what the OP is asking about.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

I have a Colt that is pretty reliable and have shot others but while in the market for a accurate AR based 308 I made the mistake last week of handling a LWRC M6 A2 SPR.

It fit like a glove. Love the REPR style foregrip.

Ran through the one shot, clean, another shot clean, three shot clean, etc, routine a half dozen times today and it shot great.

Adjusted 8 clicks down and eight left for the target on the right.
Then came the rain.

Being a piston gun its a little pricey but shoots well and stays very clean.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

There have been some good names mentioned if you are looking at buying a complete rig, lol at the Colt remark.

I like to build mine, nothing like putting together a rig and having it shoot lights out. My idea of a all out build: Mega billet receivers, the upper might need to be squared. A Bartlein or Krieger pipe, a nice handguard such as a Apex, Nib ARP carrier w/ superbolt, DD LPK with a Geissele, PRS stock. Glass would be a NF NXS sitting in a Unimount. Maybe a few more minor details such as a Accupod. Not sure on the caliber, something in 6mm.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

My favorite is the KAC SR15-E3.

Re: Best AR-15 to get. Price is not a factor.

Reminds me of what's the best beer thread!!lol
So many to choose from and so litte time. I've owned most of the ones mentioned and they are all good. My next will be Noveske and/or Daniel Defense, maybe both!!
