i have 2 Viper 6.5-20, non-pst's im going to sell, i figure i can get 300$ each for them, and i replace them with 1 better scope i can swap from gun to gun..

looking for a mil/mil, sfp or ffp, 16 to 20x range.
would prefer crosshairs better then normal dots..

suggestions?

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

Not quite what you are asking about but you might consider a used Super Sniper 10X HD.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

As I said, needs to be 16x to 20x in variable power. Similar to what I have now, just in a mil/mil

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

For a little more than $600 you could consider the Vortex Viper PST 4-16 and 6-24x models and the Weaver Tactical 3-15x50 (which is FFP). If you're not familiar with the Weaver Tactical, do some research, it's a ton of quality and features for around $730.

On the lower price end, there is a Viper HS 5-15x that's a MidwayUSA special for around $400-450 I believe.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

Go to SWAF's website . "Hawke" 8-32x56 about $450. Have one on a Savage 110 .338 L/M and no problems at all. Or a Millett 6-25x56 also a very good scope for the money. Clear optics , no problems holding zero

I have a dad that launches lengthy selection and cusses for the $ and for a basic there is not a better opportunity..They are under $600 but I would suggest not going over 16 energy with them then the changes go from 1/4 to 1/8....

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

What country he from??? But I thunk sums of that stupid rubbed off on me when I readed that.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

500 to 600 is a tough nut to crack for a quality mil/mil scope especially in the power range you are looking for.

You can't get everything for that price.

Burris MTAC, I believe they make a 4-16, but I am not positive.

Falcon Menace 4-14x comes close to your requirements and is available in illuminated and non-illuminated models.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

No, brain farted that the price was in subject line.

I was actually correcting it as you so sarcastically pointed out my error.

Thanks.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

jerseymike and nofail just made me laugh until my face cramped. That was funny. Darkos post oughtta go in the motivational pic thread.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

The Midway Viper HS will get you mil/mil and 15x. Close as I can get for your price range, but it has dots.

Re: looking for a good scope in the 500 to 600 range..

Ring, you have shot down most everything that has been recommended. You must know their are not to many options in that price range. I am sure your aware of all of the scopes meeting your criteria.

So you may have to change some of the features or spend more money.

In the FS section
SWFA 10x42 for $350
Weaver 3-15 for $700
