Does anyone know of a night vision base my friend can use to mount night vision on his rifle? I'm aware of the PRi mount, but it requires the action to be tapped for #8-40 screws, and he would rather have a mount that does require altering the action.

Thanks!

What is He mounting, clip-on, Simrad, dedicated NV scope?

Several options, MARS rail, ring cap bases, forward rails for stock mounting....

Re: Rem 700 SA Night Vision Mount

I run two of them, I hate the one and the other I love . Think ones a McCann and the other is a M.A.R.S. rail. I will check the good one and post. The only complaint I have about the one is that it has a curve which is well in front of the scope and does not allow the night vision to be mounted close enough to the scope.

You should be able to use any picitinny rail but you should really provide us the NV optic and we can get more specific.

Also, what stock is the 700 in...factory?

The Remington MARS mount will work with either size hole in the receiver. It comes with both screw sizes and sleeves to fill in the gap if you use the smaller screws. It isn't the best option out there but will work if he really wants to keep the action and stock unaltered. But get ready to build up the cheek rest, it brings the scope height waaay up.
