OK, so a friend of mine is going back and forth between running QD or threaded. I am saying QD so that he doesn't have to worry about cross threading on his guns, and it is semi auto. Another guy is telling him that he will have to re-thread every gun in order to mount the QD to, and that he may as well go get them all threaded. I was under the impression that as long as your flash hider/muzzle brake was compatible with your suppressor, all you did was throw the can on top. Am I right or wrong?

Re: QD Threaded Question

I just read my question to myself, and I'm not sure if I worded everything in the best manner. Let me know if any clarification is needed.

Re: QD Threaded Question

All my suppressors are thread on styles and not once have I ever cross threaded a suppressor on.

IMO, there are more problems related to a QD suppressor then there is to a thread on.

Re: QD Threaded Question

I guess what I was really getting at was this: Do you have to have the flash hider or brake threaded for the suppressor?

Re: QD Threaded Question

NVM, just answered my question. Sorry if I wasted anyone's time. I'm new to the suppressor game.

Re: QD Threaded Question

If you are using this for a precision rifle, then removing and putting back the suppressor will cause POI shift that may or may not be predictable. I leave my suppressor attached all the time for this reason, and thus went with a threaded one.

Re: QD Threaded Question

I use a TBAC 30ba between my 308 and 260. With that suppressor I have no noticeable shift in POI. My groups are consistently pretty tight with both calibers. If there's any shift in POI with this can it's not discernable from my ability with the weapon system.
