Range Report Need advice on my 6.5CM load for 1000yds

Re: Need advice on my 6.5CM load for 1000yds

I would go with 41.8. Maybe re-shoot w/ 41.9.

My 1K load is 41.9 using 140 AMAX.

Re: Need advice on my 6.5CM load for 1000yds

I shot an F-Class match on Dec 16th with 42.4. Results are:
800 Yards: 149 with 7 x's
900 Yards: 142 with 3 x's
1000 Yards: 135 with 1 x

Max points per yardage line are 150. Max possible score is 450. X ring is 5", 10 ring is 10", 9 ring is 20" and 8 ring is 30", 7 ring is 44".
At 900 I got mostly 9's and at 1000 had a 7 and a few 8's that really dropped my score.

gau17, what are your groups/score looking like at 1000yards with 41.9 ?

Re: Need advice on my 6.5CM load for 1000yds

Hey guys I just received a Ga Precision Crusader w/ a 27" bartlein 1:8.5 twist. I am new to the 6.5's being that I have always shot a .308 Crusader. I bought 5 boxes of the hornady manufactured 140 amaxs to break the barrel in and kind of get to know the rifle. Ordered brass and redding dies this morning. Do you guys think a 8.5 twist will stabilize the 140's. I really want to shoot the 140 jlk vld but am hesitant to buy anything before getting some feed back. Bergers are also on the plate. I have read a lot and h4350 seems the go to powder from what I've seen. Any tips, advice, on powder choices, bullet choices ect... Would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I use the load printed on the box, works just fine to 1120yds.
