Re: NRA speech LIVE.

That was well written/delivered and to the point in terms of the underlying causes of these acts of violence. The only thing I would add as another extra layer of school security would be to arm designated administrators in each school with non-lethal weapons (i.e. Taser X26's, Taser shotguns or shotguns with non-lethal ammo, high strength mace/pepper spray) and give them the training to use these non-lethal weapons effectively. If the bad guy knocked off the security officer in a surprise attack then they could respond with non-lethal force to stop the attacker.

Re: NRA speech LIVE.

I agree with the second layer scenario, but why go non-lethal? Someone in the school (principal or vice-principle) should be charged with the responsibility of last line of defense, and it should be lethal.

Re: NRA speech LIVE.

I just think it would go over better with an uninformed populace to have non-lethal weapons in the hands of school administrators who might otherwise freak when using lethal weapons, or end up hitting the wrong people with them as well. The non-lethal weapons are extremely effective in terms of their stopping power. Just ask anyone who has been shot with a Taser.

I am tired of pandering to an uninformed populace. Screw em. If the left can manipulate them for their purposes so should we.

Arm the teachers, get it passed in Congress just like we armed commercial pilots, and let these liberal @#$# cry themselves to sleep.

Re: NRA speech LIVE.

I think the 2nd layer of less than lethal would be a good compromise. It would comfort those that are either not willing/opposed to carry a firearm or are afraid of them. Also LTL weapons would limit the possibility of innocent bystanders, in this case children, from being hit.

For those of you that think a law enforcement grade taser is not effective. Try running a 3 gun course with someone trying to tase you.

Yeah, a good way to compromise safety.... Do some research. There is video after video of someone making a taser their bitch. What's the average distance of a school hallway? How about distance from one corner of a classroom to another? Now what's the max range of the best tasers? Anyone that brings a taser to a gun fight will catch bullets.
