This is a little bit out there, I know. If I wanted to build an M110-ish clone from a less expensive gun than the SR-25, is it possible to obtain the gas block to mate up with the suppressor system for that weapon? Or maybe you can't and would have to buy the actual SR-25? Which seems silly to spend that much just to have the ability to mount that particular style of suppressor.

Re: M110 Build

You don't want to run the M110 suppressor. It's pretty widely known that they has pretty nasty POI shift. When the trials were originally run, the ?) M110s used were the cream of the crop. Once they started shipping mass produced model's to units there was a ton of problems. Zeroed rifles were not even on paper once suppressors were attached. I'm not sure if it was on he hide but do some google searches for M110 problems. Many units both marine corps and army went back to the armory and pulled out the M14 EBRS they thought they had seen the last of. Spend your money on setting up a rifle for the surefire suppressor.

Re: M110 Build

yep fuck the KAC can, it is horrible. buy a good ar10 and a mack brothers, surefire, silencerco, etc can

Re: M110 Build

Ah, well that's not good then. I guess what I like about it is that it goes down over the barrel which would seem like it is nice for keeping the overall length down with the 20" barrel. Do any other suppressors work that way, or is that what causes the terrible POI shift?

Re: M110 Build

Not all 110s shoot like shit with the can, I can assure you of that.
There are better solutions than KAC's outdated setup, though. Guys above listed good options imo

Re: M110 Build

on a AR10 i would prefer a can that works with a muzzle break, i shoot mine both supressed and unsupressed depending on what i'm doing. The mack brothers cans are fairly new and from what i've seen are awesome!!!

Re: M110 Build

A little over a year ago I was in the exact same boat as you. I had an lmt mws that I wanted to run the kac m110 can on, and even found out that gap had a gas block that would work on my mws. However after posting several threads I decided that was not the way to go and that for my needs a surefire 762ss would be more along the lines of what I wanted.

Like you I wanted the reflex style can, and most important to me was lack of poi shift. Now that I have finally been approved I can say I am extremely happy with my decision.

A couple pics to show what I ended up with.

Current setup with leupold scope showing the reflex muzzle brake mount:

7 rounds unsuppressed, 100yds 6.5cm

The other 3 rounds suppressed to check shift:

I know 3 rounds isn't exactly what folks here on the hide prefer, but shooting groups is not what I like to do. I have since verified that same shift multiple times on steel out to 715yds.
