i have a mcree chassis for my 5R. i have been thinking about getting a light stock for hunting. i sold the origianl stock. i hated that thing. will the above stock work with 308 bottom metal?

Yes,the stock will fit as long as your rifles barrel isn't bigger than a varment barrel.Plus the bottom metal will work,but it's a pretty cheap made stock,I should know I bought one and haven't yet put it to use.

The whole front end of the stock is hollow and some have said that it will flex from being hollow.Some have even tried to fix it by filling in the open parts of the stock even adding rods.I cannot say to what it did or if it made it better for them.I think they just ended up going another way like I did.

As long as your not worried about accuracy then go for it.

it's just for hunting. that is why i have my mcree's chassis, for the precise shoots.

if i go with the advice from most of the boofers at the range, "as long it's on paper, it'll kill a deer!", then i think a 2" group outta the plastic stock will be sufficient.
