I know this is a stupid question but i have to ask. Does anyone know if 6.8 spc will fit in a 5.56 magazine? I have been told that it will but I would think it would hold less rounds and might have some feed issues. Do any of you have any experience with this?

Yes it fits, and works. It works better when you change the follower out. It works the best when you buy 6.8 mags.
If you'll note when you see the two side by side the next time, the grooves for the 6.8 are smaller than for the 5.56. This allows the rounds to sit farther out against the wall of the magazine and therefore need less vertical space in the mag. This increases capacity. But, most importantly, correctly angles the cartridges toward the breech of the rifle.

6.8 will fit but only function with about ten or less rounds in the mag. Any more than this the sides of the mag begin to bulge to the point you'll be lucky if it fits in the gun. Buy 6.8 mags, avoid the headaches.

The reason I asked was (now dont laugh) my Wife bought me 2 30 round 5.56 mags for Christmas and I wanted to ask before I pulled them out of the package.
