If you were going to sell a billet AR-10 lower made by Tactical Machining, what would your asking price be? I'm curious to see what ya'll have to say!

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

one of their finished lower's or one of their 80% lower's?

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

The fairest way to do it and feel good about yourself would be to list it on gun broker, starting bid at what you feel is the pre madness fair price. Let the market decide what it's worth.
Unless you are trying to reap some profit off the current market, I don't see any reason to sell anything right now. Too much uncertainty, and the only down side is values will return to normal. If I had a friend or family member who was looking and I had one I could spare, I would sell it for what I have in to it.
If you're just looking to build karma and be looked at as a great guy, well then, I'm your buyer.

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

Put it on gunbroker, set the reserve at what you paid for it plus shipping, and make money.

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

as an individual, I'd at least want to break even, if I could, and you certainly can right now...

as a dealer, I'd have bought at wholesale and would want to make 15-20%

that's IF I were selling w/ a set price FTF or on here,etc...

now what I'd personally do right this second...

put it on Gunbroker w/ a starting price of what I'd normally want for it, then let the idiots pay whatever they are willing

This^

Sit back and be amazed at what it goes for, lol.

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

I would sell it for as much money as I could possibly get for it.

But then again, Im a capitalist and love free market economies.

I believe in letting the market correct itself and let people pay what they are willing to pay for an item they want. People had 8 years to prepare for this ban......I sure know I did.....I have duffle bags filled with high capacity magazines of various types enough AR's to arm most of my entire family.

If someone didnt prepare and at the last minute they want something I have......I said WANT, not NEED, then they can expect to pay what the market will bear.

I like the idea. Gun broker it is, I don't wanna seem like I'm gouging any of you folks on here....I did buy the lower to make money on it so we'll see what it sells for. Thanks!

Check the laws before you do this, unless you have the proper licensing. Or perhaps reword your statement. You MIGHT be encroaching on dealing firearms without a license because your primary motivation is profit, not "enhancing a personal collection" or some of the other things that are mentioned in the law.

http://law.onecle.com/uscode/18/921.html

(21) The term "engaged in the business" means (C) as applied to a dealer in firearms, as defined in section
921(a)(11)(A), a person who devotes time, attention, and labor to
dealing in firearms as a regular course of trade or business with
the principal objective of livelihood and profit through the
repetitive purchase and resale of firearms, but such term shall
not include a person who makes occasional sales, exchanges, or
purchases of firearms for the enhancement of a personal
collection or for a hobby, or who sells all or part of his
personal collection of firearms;

(22) The term "with the principal objective of livelihood and
profit" means that the intent underlying the sale or disposition of
firearms is predominantly one of obtaining livelihood and pecuniary
gain, as opposed to other intents, such as improving or liquidating
a personal firearms collection

Could be trouble, could not be. I'm not a law expert but just passing on what I've read before. The laws are there and up for interpretation. Enforcement is another aspect.

What does everyone else think? (besides it being nonsense?)

The way I deal with my personal collection is that if I sell something out of the safe, then the money goes back into the safe. Meaning that I will take the money I receive from selling the lower and put it towards the purchase of something else for my collection.

Agreed. If anything, I'm placing orders on as much as possible (without overpaying) so I can add as much to my collection before a ban.

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

Sell it for what you can get for it. That's what all my stuff is worth, it just seems that it all goes down for me...

All gun stuff is better than the racing stuff in cashflow though...

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

I wouldn't feel a damn bit bad about "gouging" anyone. We all have a choice as to what we buy. It kinda pisses me the way guys doubled the price of their guns within hours of the tragedy in CT. But what really gets me are the idiots that fall for it!

If they're willing to pay it, let 'em! What If a fat ugly dude scores with a couple of hot chicks? They weren't raped, tricked, or trapped. They simply made a choice. If they weren't happy afterwards, tough shit. They had a choice and chance to walk away. Because they didn't, whose fault was it? The ugly dude or the dumb broad? Same thing here, only different circumstances.

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

Gunbroker is the place to ass rape people. Snipershide is a group of fellow shooters and gun enthusiasts. Don't try to disgrace this website or its members and you shouldn't have a problem fucking someone on the price.

Re: What would YOU sell an AR-10 lower for?

I am a firm believer in "What goes around comes around".
So if you have no problem selling it, go for it. Just remember that the next time you buy something it might be your rear being expanded.
