Looking for a Threaded barrel for a 1911 .45 acp in full size, and having no
Luck in searching. Storm lake does not sell to the general public. Barsto takes
3 months. I don't know much about Jarvis.

Anybody know?

Thanks. Midway seems outta stock on everything threaded though.
Not particularly looking for cheap, but do want at least one ASAP

When did this happen? I ordered and got a 1911 barrel from SL last year with no problem. Yeah Bar Sto makes nice barrels too, keep in mind for the next can purchase to order the barrel when you send in the Form 4 paperwork and you should have the barrel before the can.

Their website won't let me place an order ....it sends me to a locator site that shows distributors for their barrels in each state.
Am I going about this wrong? Should I call them?

Just looked at it and they have changed it from when I ordered mine as well. My guess is they are having enough requests that they are just going through dealers now. Too bad.

Jarvis makes a great barrel, but are usually on the Barsto price side.

You could also look into picking up a 6 inch barrel from brownells and just having a gunsmith chop and thread it.

Storm Lake no longer sells to the public. I emailed and they confirmed. The link that I posted earlier has threaded barrels in stock.

KKM Precision is a good option. Give them a call so that you get exactly the right barrel and thread pitch. Also, many after market 1911 barrels are supposed to be fit by a gunsmith. They aren't drop-in like many aftermarket Glock barrels.

The Storm Lake that I ordered for my Kimber (from the link I posted) was a drop in, tight fitting, 100% functioning barrel. YMMV

Re: Where can I find a threaded barrel for 1911

I got a storm lake drop in threaded barrel from midway for my Springfield. It dropped in with no fitting. It locks up tight too. It cycles smooth. I hit the notify me button at midway and used a coupon code when I bought it. I wasn't in a hurry because I'm still waiting for my stamp. Hopefully less than 6 weeks. I've heard great things about Jarvis too.
