Re: AR-10 magazines ?
Reasonable is highly flexible right now, as is anything that might fit in an assault weapons ban.
If there's no ban, and things calm down, we'll probably be back to normal supply and prices in 12-18 months. In that case if you have mags and don't need them current prices are totally unreasonable.
If on the other hand we get another 94' like ban, with some of the likely modifications to close the loop holes last time around, then basically any price right now is reasonable if you have to have them.
No one that's talking knows what's really likely to happen, but I'd say they have a better shot at a ban this time around than in 2008. It depends on how much time goes by before they try to push it through, the longer they wait the better the odds of it not being passed because the tragedy of the shootings will fade.
So either way you gamble, buy for huge prices now, and you gamble lots of $ that in a year prices are back to normal. Don't buy now and if they get a ban through, you won't have the option to legally buy at any price.
Hi capacity mags are an easy target, it's hard to justify someone "needing" 20-30 round mags, most states don't allow them for hunting, and most competitions don't allow them either, plus competitions could be easily modified to accommodate 10 round only mags etc. and if they just ban mags they aren't banning guns so they get more casual gun owners that might be open to such policies compared to actually banning guns.
