OK, just picked up a Remington 700 SPS 308, being new to the Bolt Action LR game, I'm slowly buying what I need to build the rifle RIGHT, but I need someone to put it all together for me, 20" Heavy fluted barrel, gonna order a Manners T4 mini chassis, ned someone to put the action in the stock and mount my scope, any suggestions? I'm I'm Southern Indiana but don't mind shipping the weapon. Really don't want like a 6 month wait though. Any suggestions?

Awesome. Thanks bro. How's his turn around time?

Re: smith to assemble my 700 the RIGHT way

I don't think he's accepting bedding jobs as per his website. I had him do a few things but couldn't convince him to true my 700.

Re: smith to assemble my 700 the RIGHT way

Thanks for that bro. Guess I'll look somewhere else.

I'd look into Chad Dixon here on the hide. You could also skip the chassis and let him do the inletting.

Re: smith to assemble my 700 the RIGHT way

Why not shoot the SPS as it is first? I guarantee from experience that gun will shoot way better than you expect. Installing a decent stock will help followed by good optics, mounts and rings.

Re: smith to assemble my 700 the RIGHT way

You can do everything you mentioned yourself, you're just tightening screws really, save your money. Get a good in-lb torque wrench (borka is popular, you can get one from mile high shooting or triad tactical) and all the info you need is in this forum. Use the search function, it'll answer all these questions.
