I know they have received a lot of criticism for shipping charges, but when the shit hit the fan they held the line on prices. Limiting mag orders seems fair since they are not overcharging for them. They have earned my future dollars, Thanks Midway.

Now CTD-GFY!!

Midway is a great company. No the cheapest prices out there but when you factor in the discoun codes and the fact you can order almost everything you need from one place it's well worth it. The customer service is second to none.

CTD is from here---I have known the owner for 30 years and Michael is about the profit lol. Brownells did the same thing on prices---did not raise prices to take advantage of the market. Good folks.

Midway has made some of their goods free shipping as well, I was quite surprised when I researched a scope yesterday.

Shipping is expensive and I don't think its right to expect a company to eat profit so I can have free/cheap shipping. I recently sold some items here in the PX and to ship a light package about the size of a half loaf of bread to a bordering state cost $5.85.
CTD can screw off and midway will continue to get my business over all others

Shipping for a large corporation is much cheaper, as they ship at a different rate than others. I fedxd a part to Hungary for my company for $18, the guy at Kinkos had to double check it. Part would have cost me $35 or so to go inconus, had I shipped it without my companies account. I think its fedex advantage or maybe better.

Also there are now UPS / USPS joint ventures with economy shipping.

In the grand scheme of things, I'm looking for value. If I want to help out a LGS or buy from a hide member, I wont mind paying the extra cost. I seriously doubt Larry is hurting for revenue.

Midway has been fast on shipping, and just as fast processing returns. When I had a question about a YHM hand guard, the rep went to the warehouse and visually checked the item to answer my question.

I'm a cheap bastard, but I've shopped at Midway to get good deals and good service.

Midway is alright, decent prices and lots of stuff in stock, and if the shipping would just stay constant I would buy a lot more from them. I have no problem with paying the regular shipping prices, but when they put something on sale then jack up the shipping that is crappy. Also still not impressed that they stole the rear bag designs from site sponsors and ripped them off.

Midway customers have done more for our rights than any business in the gun world...NRA round-up comes to mind first but midway is also very active with donations and sponsorships in the shooting community

Midway gave me a full refund on a scope I purchased 5 months prior when I decided to buy something else, I'd say that's about as good a customer service as there is out there, they earned my return as a customer many times over.

They get a better deal on shipping but shipping is more than just paying the freight charges. There is the handling part so when you take into account how fast they ship it's takes a pretty decent infrastructure to support that. That's were the additional bump in shipping is going to. Not necessarily their pockets.

everybody with a gun website seems to be slow. more orders than they can fill and backorders for months. good time to be selling, not so much for buying

Midway will continue to get my $$ as well. I'm thinking that when all of this shit started they knew other companies would pull some bullshit raising prices on their customers. Midway was very wise in not doing them same because they knew that they would gain much more respect and a shit load more customers by remaining honest. And that's just the way it is...

Only thing I really notice is how Larry Potterfield just loves to get his picture taken and put into his catalog.

It is an effective marketing tactic. Notice how many Midway customers, especially repeat customers refer to Larry as if they know him personally? Make it more personal for them as opposed to the corporate feelings of dealing with a name like CTD.

My grandfather worked in an auto parts store for his whole life. He still refers to the products by who makes them. Like Mr. Holly, or Mr. Edelbrock. Oh ya, he makes a good carburetor. It's not the product to him, it's the person. Like Edsal Ford is making the cars himself.

Sometimes I wish I lived in those times.

Not a huge fan of midways cs after a recent spat about shipping. I still use them as they have a great selection decent prices and as was stated big NRA supporters.

hopefully potterfield jr (if there is one) will not do the same.

the thing is that 1 or 2 items may be able to be gotten elsewhere for cheaper.

but take 10 items at random, add together as one order and usually midway will be the place to go.

i just ordered a whole bunch of stuff ranging from coyote decoys to bullets to sling sltuds. when compiled and adding shipping, the order was better than anywhere else.

they do retain the lost art of customer service too, which if there is a problem, comes in handy rather than dealing with run arounds.

too bad they didn't have a frequent buyer's club or preferred customer club, where the more you buy from them you get a discount or two.

its funny, I haven't found CTD than dirt to be that much cheaper over brownells or Midway.

If only Midway wouldn't completely rip off independent designs from some of our very own 'Hide sponsors, then ship them off overseas to outsourced labor.....

I would also say that midway is way better at being in stock or being up front about not being in stock. Seems like every time I order from brownells the shit ends up being on back order at some point.

Yea most of everything on Midway is out of stock but I have had awesome customer service for years now. And they are still keeping prices low and they show you when stuffs back in stock. They are the only place I order my stuff.

2nds on a membership discount from them though. Free shipping every once in a while would help.

Midway is fantastic! Have been buying stuff from them every since got into reloading and have always been pleased with their prices and customer service.

I like midway. But don't ship USPS any more. I use to receive my order the next day being I live in Missouri. My last two orders have taken a week and a few days to get. No big deal. I just have to remember to ship UPS with them. Nothing was on a back order either

I have a Midway box showing up at my house almost every other day...I just added up all the stuff I have on backorder if it all ships all at once I may go over the fiscal cliff!

They are not bad pricing and as stated you can do better on single items if you look around.The only thing I don't like is the BS shipping charges. If they could get that straightened out Larry would be saying "thanks for your business" more....

I've always had good experiences with Midway. The shipping is annoying and I'm not too far from the warehouse, but it has everything I'm usually looking for in one spot so I don't have to shop around.

Brownells has always been a little more expensive but seem to have most things in stock and not overly high prices. Have done a lot of business with Midway in the past, trying to use the smaller companies now as I see these companies as stable no BS suppliers in the future. Bravo Company, 4 scopes, Brownells, CDI, Tactical Ops, Choate, Mile High, and 44 Mag have relieved me of 3 k over the last two months.

this is the only thing i dont like about them either it take 5-10 days for me to get my stuff over here in cali sometimes. but i have never had a problem from them on anything.

I just noticed a veritable crapton of items at Midway (most AR related, but including all AI magazines) switched to "Out of stock, no backorder" within the last couple hours.

Hopefully this is just due to ridiculous demand and uncertain lead times.

Also hopefully, they plan to fill the backorder I placed over a week ago that was supposed to be back in stock mid-January...

I've been ordering from Midway for years now and I've had my ups and downs with them. Recently I ordered a Redding Type S Neck sizing die with 2 bushings. Got the order and found that Redding had made an error and put the wrong bushing in their package. I called up Midway and explained what happened.

The customer support rep I talked to said he saw 6 of this item in stock and would talk with the warehouse guys to personally verify the item before they replace it. A few days later I get notified via email that an order has shipped. Got the item, no charge for shipping or anything.

Yes their prices can fluctuate, but overall they are a great company to work with.
