Nremington 700 ss 5r milspec opinions.

Re: Nremington 700 ss 5r milspec opinions.

I had the 308 5r. It was nice, but needed a better stock in my opinion. It kicked pretty hard. I would look at a rifle in 260 or 6.5 CM vs 300 WM if you want to reach out past 1,000 on paper or steel.

Nope, no one here has ever used one, therefore doing a search of the site for 5R mil-spec would be a colossal waste of time.

I've shot several 300's in the 700 heavy bbl family...all nice shooters but they definitely need a break for extended shooting.

Why 300WM? What are you planning on doing with it? The reason I'm asking is, there are other cartridges available that will get you to 1K without the recoil

I've got one and love it. I put a brake on it and bedded the stock and have put around 600 rounds through it. It's averaging about .6 moa with no problems to report.
