I don't have any firsthand knowledge of this pistol, however I have an opertunity to pick one up cheap. Not looking to hear what better options are, just want to hear what you all think of it. Good, bad, and indifferent is fine. Thanks and PS I tried a search and didn't come up with anything. Could be I am not good at navigating the site.

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Same here, no problem what so ever with one. Several of co workers use it as their EDC in summer time, well worth purchase in my mind. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to get it.

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Have one and worn as my CC for about a year. I shoot it every so often at the range to get the "feel" back. It has a very strong trigger pull and it kicks like a mule (weighs hardly anything). I would suggest you shoot it to get the feel becuase its alot different than other pistols you probably own.

But it is what it is - a light carry gun but reliable.

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Thanks I think for the price I will buy it.

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Carried one for about a year. only complaint would be the trigger pull is heavy and really long. Also had a problem with the trigger guard slapping the bottom of the trgger finger(after a couple of mags was not all that much fun to shoot!)

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Definitely not a range gun. I bought one for my mom to use as a carry gun. The only real issue I could find is the magazine would hang when I tried to insert it into the well. This was caused by poor alignment with some sheet metal and the polymer frame. I knocked it down, polished it up, and haven't had a problem with it since. My mother and I have put a couple of hundred rounds through it. She shoots it extremely well, so I am pleased with it.

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

I have carried for a while, did a lot of research too. It seems that the ones with the chromed slides have a lot fewer issues. Mine has been 100%, better than the blued P3AT and the older P11 I had.

And it does kick, I went out and put 300 rounds of 147gr down range to make sure it ran. The base of my thumb hurt for two months after....

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Had one of the first ones out of the chute. It went back after 8 rounds and they gave me a new one, second one was good to go. Not bad but there are better options, but if the price is right go for it.

Re: Kal Tec PF-9

Not a gun you'll put 10,000 rounds a year through, but one that can easily be forgotten in your hip pocket.

A Glock 35 in the safe in't nearly as effective as pf9 in the hand.
