How is it possible they can pass a law that states I have to relinquish my weapons at the time of my death? I bought them , I paid for them, I have a sizable amount of money wrapped up in them. I'm sure I'm smallfish compared to most gun collectors out there. So what happens we just turn over thousand of dollars of firearms when we die, can't be passed on to our heirs? WTF??. So the responsible law abiding gun owner is out thousands of dollars because of some idiot. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE , HOW CAN THEY DO THIS! WHERE IS THE NRA???

Re: How can they do this?

They are the Gub'mint. They can do what ever the people allow them to do, and more if they can get away with it.

Re: How can they do this?

How can they charge something like 40% for an estate tax when the person who owned the property already paid the taxes on it?

It is the civic duty of everyone to pay attention to what the government is doing. Clearly that duty has been neglected for decades, and here we are. </div></div>

So true. Fun to finally see the nation at least partly waking up to a government running rampant, doing as they please, and running this country into the ground.

Re: How can they do this?

We have allowed them to get away with so many violations to the Constitution, it makes my head spin. And with their constant drum-beating that "This is a democracy" plus teaching that lie in "school," the sheeple all think that a simple (minded?) majority vote can overrule anything, including the Bill of Rights. It is especially frustrating for individuals who are awake and aware of what has been going on to stomach the shit these bastards pull on a daily basis. I honestly do not know what to do or say to wake these damn sheeple up! And I have family members in that herd, as well...... Even the "supreme court" cannot read and interpret the simple phrase "shall not be infringed" and they have the old dictionaries that clearly explain the usage and meaning of those words when they were written. I refuse to "pay for the privilege" of carrying a firearm to defend myself and my family! That CCW law must have these pricks laughing their asses off at us! What is next? A license to read the Bible? To quote scripture? To breathe? Fuck them very much.

Re: How can they do this?

We a gun owners won't stand up and say NO to the government! We talk a lot of talk, but there is no way we will all risk our quality of life to stand up to tyrany!
We want someone else to do it.....but guess what! There is no one else!
NRA?? I'm laughing....

Re: How can they do this?

What, then, is the solution to all this? I write my congress people for all the good it does (I have a strong suspicion my correspondence is read only by computer software that selects an appropriate form letter to return to me). Do we march on DC? Widespread civil disobedience? I regret saying this, but it is almost as if two distinct camps are forming. On one side are the producers, the workers, and those that contribute to society and government; while on the other are the ones that benefit from that work, politicians and constituents alike. After work, school, and generally making ends meet for myself, I don't have the energy or time to fully understand all the issues at play. I do know, however, that this cycle we are on is not sustainable, and what this all comes down to is that we are in the midst of deciding if we continue to be America, or a country located where America used to be. Land of the free, or land of the governed? Home of the brave, or home of the mediocre? Time shall tell.

It's designed that way, my friend.

Re: How can they do this?

For 78 years NFA act has been upheld. A $200 tax on a $5 suppressor. In today's dollars that would be over a $3,000 NFA tax. Just imagine if the government required all firearms to become part of the NFA registry and be subject to an inflation this adjusted tax. The more I learn about the history of gun control legislation, the angrier I get.

Re: How can they do this?

Has anyone ever received a letter back from your congress person after asking them a question that required a you or no answer, With a yes or no return?

Nope, a friend and myself wrote 2 different letters and sent them at different times of the week. We both got the exact cookie cutter reply. Although, The reply was on the good side of the coin. Not saying if I wrote a letter for a ban, I wouldn't get another reply agreeing with that side as well. I've never trusted anyone in any sort of political situation and never will.

Should have never been a tax then either. IMO the NRA is only concerned with keeping just enough gun laws on our side to keep their pockets fat and stay in business.

Re: How can they do this?

My opinion is this for years every one said they belonged to the NRA and unfortunately it hasnt been true. Like or hate the NRA they got the biggest stick in the game. For a long time now I have given memberships to friends and relatives to the NRA / GOA and JPFO for XMAS and bdays. take youre pick but like the saying goes either we all hang together or we all will hang separately.
As far as the nfa act from what ive read thats where were heading. I know moneys tight . The thing to keep in mind is it will be easier to beat the bill before it becomes law then trying to get rid of it after its passed. I try to be a glass is half filled kind of guy but without the money to fight these bills we are screwed . I live in illinois and we dodged 2 big bills twice in the past week . Part of me says were gonna get what we got coming from the feds because of our own laziness . As a whole gun owners dont let there voices be heard unless were fighting to keep our rights. I would like to see a grassroots campaign to overturn the nfa act. Not that we could get it with the current politicos . But it is nice to dream!
And that ends todays sermon.

Re: How can they do this?

What law or bill are you talking about? Is it something the gvt is trying to do or what?

Re: How can they do this?
